Hosteling at home

Has anyone ever tried or thought about checking into a hostel in a city that you actually live in and gaming the girls you find there? Typically you need to have some out of state documents or another passport. I guess the only problem is that it would look suspicious if you came back every couple of months, so you could probably only do it once a year. But, you could stay for a month during a good season. You could say you learned about all the "cool" places from some guy you met at a cafe. Hairy guy. Quiet. Said he was an author.

I thought about this. I don't think you need to come up with a story. just tell them, you had to stay here temporarily till finding a space?

Since those girls are out of state, out of country, it would be cool to hangout with a dude who has a car and knows where to go

I don't know about the hostel scene in U.S. are there a lot of backpackers? I can't imagine travelling that way since public transportation sucks.
can anyone chime in?

Yeah best way is to tell them that you live in town and so you are easily the best person to hang out with because you know all the cool spots and the best nights at the best bars

I like stuff like this. I hang at alot of the popular tourist spots around San Francisco. Why? Because girls on a vacation are DTF. I play the role of the cool local guy who can show them around. The airport is one of my favorite spots. My favorite move is too borrow my brothers Harley and take them for a ride over the Golden Gate and around the city. When we get back to their hotel they almost always invite me in for a drink..

If you are not hitting the local backpacker bars you are fucking missing out.

I live in sydney and the backpacker bars: sidebar, scubar and scary canaries are litterally some of the best places to pick up. Not just because the girls are easy as shit, but also beacuse they are awesome places to meet birds from other countries, girls who are keen to have a good time with no dramas.

You could also be a couch surfing host, or better yet throw parties for couch surfers.

Sounds like an interesting idea...

you guys may want to checkout here couchsurfing <dot> org and here hostelworld <dot> com

I've never used the couch surfing one but have met travelers who swear by it and I use the hostel one all the time.

During the week yes, Scary at the weekend is a cattle market, you need to be shitfaced to enjoy it. There are some tidy backpackers in the places you mentioned though.
