How to find empowering flatmates?

Interesting Question...

This is tough if you have flatmates like Brad Pitt's character in "True Romance" - my only advise would be to leave them and go and travel the world! [Image: smile.gif]

Layercake

"You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake son."

What about your real friends? As long as your flatmates don't hinder your progress, is it essential to have good ones?

I've had a few shytty flatmates in the past. They didn't impede my progress (much), I was too busy to fcuk wit dem.
Just go out and network with your real friends.
Living with someone and being friends with them are two different pieces of cake.

Living with unmotivated people can definitely take it's toll on you.

My recommendations would be to consider traveling full time for a little while (it might not be as expensive as you think) or maybe talk to some of your closer friends and see if you could move in with them somehow.

If neither of those is an option, then I'd say try and spend as much time away from the house as possible. If you have to do work, take your laptop out to a cafe. Always be networking with other people who have similar outlooks and just focus on your own life. Bad roommates suck, but sometimes you just have to struggle through it.

I just ignore them if they're demotivational. Act like you pretty much live by yourself, get a lock if necessary. It's what I'm doing for the most part myself.

First of all I suggest you to search a room which contains 2 or 3 buddies. You can share so many thing while stay together. You automatically being interested in this group. So be frank and talk with with your neighbor. They will give you the best guidance.

How to find empowering flatmates?

I didn't want to start a new thread but I think I damn fucked up... I didn't have many other options so from a few days I will be living with 5 girls as a solo guy. Now these girls are all 20 years old and party girls (most decent looking) but I don't shit where I eat. I have worries that I will be hated by them for being the only dominant being in the house, how do I avoid problems such as cockblocking when bringing a girl around in this situation? The reason I took that place is because the location and price was good, I have a private room where I can do whatever I like but I have to share a bathroom with them.

Empowering yourself and self development happens on the inside of your head.

Asking how you can externally support this is missing the point.

Do the work, on your own.

Just have a living arrangement that is comfortable, low stress and affordable.
