Also I just find the people in Vietnam cunty for the most part.

That's China's cultural contribution.

I'd argue that one is the US and its allies contribution. It's certainly a white resentment from bombing the shit out of their country rather than anything else.

I also agree, the Vietnamese are, on a whole, the least friendly country I've been to.

I can't say I really blame them when you look at what western countries did to them during the Vietnam War either.

China's been fucking Vietnam for a long longer than any non-Asian entity.

Since 111 BC, in fact. They held the country until 39 AD and then came back to beat the piss out of Vietnam a few years later and held political power over the country for the next 500 years.

Less than a decade later, they did it again, this time ruling over Vietnam for more than 300 years.

Then the Chinese decided that they needed to do it one more time for good measure and took over the country again from 1407 to 1427.

By comparison, the US didn't really spend much time bombing the hell out of the country. It might be a more recent memory, but I'm guessing the cuntiness goes back a couple millennia. When you your country has spent the majority of its history pushing back against a superior force, you end up with a nation of people that are as tough as nails.

Laos got the turkey stuffing bombed out of them, but people there are downright pleasant for some odd reason, at least when I visited.

I could really only recall one time in Boracay seeing a youngish dude with a pretty hot Filipina chick, but apart from that it was really the old wrinkly sexpats with the obvious pros/semi pros. Any decent looking girl was with another local guy.

Anyway just my own observations. Of course white guys are banging Asian girls but just took me by surprise it's a lot less prevelent than people make it out to be.

The reality is the guys going there are not well put together young guys looking for a woman to date and go out with. If they have all these great qualities they have plenty of choices in their home country. Most will soon realize that they have plenty of choices at home so why make it more difficult.

Otherwise, it's notches and fun.

No offense, but you're sounding like a broad Pete. How are you going to sit here and tell me if you can't get laid at home you can't get laid there? That only applies to jumping a lot of points without paying and it's what girls say as an excuse for men who go east.

I'll just tell you I've been dry in the US for a few months, in the Phils I had a golden touchdown and laid with over a dozen girls in a month. For me at least, the effort required is so much less and US girls are not morally superior enough to be worth all of the extra effort, so it tends to deplete you at home whereas in the Phils I was getting laid and girls could smell it. Maybe that's a me thing but when I'm hot, the pussy keeps coming, when I'm cold and unmotivated, women smell that too.

As far back as I could remember, I always wanted to be a player.

I honestly don't feel any hostility here (HCM), at least not so far.

These are just minor nuances and crass generalizations, but I actually found the attitude of Bangkokians to be the most 'hostile', maybe hostile is not the accurate word, but it was more like 'screw the tourist over' is the official business model there.

Being the most touristic city on the planet following HK, I suppose this got deeply ingrained in their behavior.

When a Filipino tries to scam you and you call him on it, he is often taken aback a bit. In Bangkok, they just laugh.

Because they just know that in less than 5 minutes there will come some rich Japanese or the so called 'dumb American', and will fall for their scam. So you arguing with them simply amuses them.

Not to say that Thais aren't friendly in general, and I definitely had a nice time in Bangkok and hope to be back. But I did notice these minor nuances.

I think it's just all down to personal experience. Even just reading different posts including yours. Me saying Philippines was awesome and another guy saying he got shit talked there a lot, and I had the opposite experience in Thailand to you but had a horrible one in Vietnam.

In certain areas(eg. scams, stereotypes), white guys(or foreigners who LOOK like they're foreign) have it way tough.

When I was in Bali, I tried to get one of those fake Gucci sunglasses as a prop and some cheap thrills and after I bargained the guy down, he let me have it for 4bucks. He still probably made a hell of a profit of a counterfeit of which its production value was probably 30cents but well, its 4 bucks so whatever. A white family that walked by just as I was done with my purchase was quoted 30bucks for the same pair of shades! They 'bargained' and got the 'just for you only sir best price' of 20 dollars and the father looked so proud of his negotiating skills.

Now, I probably should have just mind my own business but man, it was for his kid and I didn't wanna let the man pay 20bucks for his fake pair of Gucci. So I told the shop keeper in my broken bahasa indonesia(which was more Malay than Indonesian)

"Dia kawan saya, dia nak beri design ni sama saya lah, 4 dollar kan?" (He's my friend, the design he wanna get is the same as me, its 4 dollars right?)

That day, an Asian knight saved a white family in distress from a scheming merchant, I made history.
