What's the deal with hydrogen peroxide? I've been reading up on it and it seems to work fine if you gargle with it like you would with mouthwash. I've heard it eats away the enamel on your teeth but can anyone verify this? Any long time users of the peroxide?

Hydrogen peroxide is bleach. I would not choose to gargle bleach. Especially a bleach that is an irritant to you skin. If you're not supposed to get it on your skin the idea of putting it in your mouth is ridiculous.

Lol, why don't you just use regular mouth wash and toothpaste? Hydrogen peroxide is nasty.

Even if there are benefits, I can't see them being that much better than the traditional stuff.

There is a thread already about this. Many users on this forum have switched over with great results.

Professional teeth whitening you get a the dentist is nothing more than concentrated peroxide sometimes going up to levels of 45%+. Typical mouthwash from the drugstore will be 3% while being diluted with water at home.

Listerine has chemicals in it that are linked to oral cancer long term. Plus alcohol dries out your mouth and causes conditions for even worse breath.

I have been using peroxide for 3 months now and I am happy with the results. I don't even need to carry gum any more my mouth stays fresh all day long, dirt cheap too.

Evreytime I brush, so at least twice daily. To the point we're even if I have a regular meal that doesn't have rank stuff in it like onions or garlic my breath is still good even without gum or mints.

If you expose your teeth for elapsed long periods to time to peroxide it will strip enamel, yes. I used to sleep with my teeth whitening trays in and my teeth would be raw when I woke up (they supplied re-mineralization gel to keep your enamel intact between whitening treatments).

But for the 30 seconds your teeth are exposed to it while gargling peroxide I think is insignificant to cause damage.
