I am guy in my early 20's. I admire the lifestyle you've made for yourself Roosh. I would love to be location independent. I have a long way to go.

Do you have alot of money saved up from your past Microbiologist job in DC or is it the book sales? Or a a combo of Both.

He lives off the land. He sells what he grows at the local farmers market.

Let's crunch some numbers (this is all approximation and speaking out of my ass, but let's take a look anyway):

Rent in college town in Poland: $500, or let's say $800 for a sweet pad
Daily Expenses: little dab of baking soda for everything from body odor to HPV, .02 cents per day. Food, if cooking at home under $5 day if economizing, or $10 if splurging. Coffee, $2-3. Drinks at the local bar, $3-4 per drink, guessing 2-3 drinks at the bar $12 max.

Daily Expense: $25 for rent (for the splurge), $10 food, $15 for everything else, comes out to $50/day. That's approx $1500/month for a chill lifestyle that includes going out almost every night in a developing country.

If you want to do something similar, but go out only 3 times per week, and cost cut on food the majority of the time you can probably take that down to around $1000/month.

Can you find a way to make $1000-1500 month (plus traveling expenses of let's say $1000 every 6 months)? If so, you can take part in this kind of lifestyle.

If you have money and save and move to developing country with very low costof living like Thailand, Central america. you can live like a king!! Just as long you are discipline and dont have a lavish lifestyle you can go a long way.

$2000 a month is enough for South America, S.E and a lot of Eastern Europe.

Pretty wrong calculation. You forgot clothes, shoes, phones, laptops, internet and phone subscriptions, the occasional health clinic visit (read Dead Bat in Paraguay), plus many more that I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Also, going out may be as cheap as "2-3 drinks at the bar $12 max" but it may also include cabs (multiple), covers (multiple if bar-hopping), and you will sometimes be taking girls out on dates as SNLs are not always possible.

Well it aint nothing that you cant do anwyway. I think Roosh is 32, so the older you get the more money you will have. I dont know how old you are Raul but if you are 25 or younger and work smart now, by the time you are 32, you can also retire and go travel the world.

Teach yourself a skill like web design or even writing and there's no reason you can't live the international lifestyle by offering a service online. I'm not suggesting you get caught up in chasing the "make money online" crowd - there's money in internet marketing, but it's hard to figure it out without knowing someone to point you in the right direction.

Instead, get on Amazon and buy the top 4 or 5 books on freelancing, preferably focused on writing or web design or whatever your offer will be. That will give you all the info you need to get started (though you still need to spend the time to actually learn the skill if you don't have it already).

Also, no matter what you decide to do, the #1 thing is you just need to learn how to market yourself. Making a couple grand a month via the web is not out of the question by any means and can be achieved pretty quickly as long as you know how to sell yourself. The freelancing books will give you a great start on this, but continue studying marketing your entire life.

Sure, making a couple grand a month for the rest of your life doesn't sound attractive, but whatever you do will lead to other opportunities and open more doors. Not to mention that even writers can make 6 figures, so the ceiling is much higher than you think. Just keep focusing on learning more skills and looking for ways to up your income.

I just read a book you might want to check out - I'm reading it a second time even though I just finished it. "The Education of Millionaires" by Michael Ellsberg. You can find it on Amazon. If you want to find out what skills you should be focusing on to make money no matter where you are or leverage your way out of the situation you're in now, I highly recommend that as a starting point.

He also talks a lot about his own path through freelance writing to becoming a published author by making the right contacts and building the skills mentioned in his book.

Beyond All Seas

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.
To be your own man is a hard business. If you try it, you'll be lonely often, and sometimes
frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself." - Kipling

We all can't drop everything at once and make a living off blogging. For most of us it takes LOTS of hard work and patience. When I was in my early 20's, I wanted nothing more than to live overseas and fuck tons of exotic women. Unfortunately I couldn't, because I didn't have the financial resources or job skills to live overseas. Instead I worked very hard and never took my eye off the ball. Now at 32 I'm living my dream, and I'm glad I waited until the time was right.

Sure I missed a big part of my 20's doing it this way. I could have dropped everything to become an English teacher or something, but I would probably be living paycheck to paycheck and that doesnt seem very enjoyable. (no offense to English teachers)

Some thoughts:

1. A LEGAL way of making cash fast: Go to Iraq/Afghanistan as a private contractor, put in a couple hard years there, use that money to start a business/buy some property and live off the income. The wars are ending, better hurry on this one

2.Study a profession where you can land overseas jobs. Engineers and Doctors seem to be able to go anywhere they want. It is a lot harder for business types.

Most of my income is book sales. It took me about 7 years to get here. It definitely wasn't overnight.

My expenses are about $2000-2500 a month. Most of my money goes to rent, food, and alcohol. It's a lot cheaper than living in the States.

My travel books are loss leaders and more of a hobby. For the amount I actually spend in the countries I write about, I can't say I'm making a profit from them.

Are you reporting your book sales income to Uncle Sam and if so, do you get a deduction for travel and bang expenses, LOL
After all, they are necessary business expenses in order to write books about travel and banging.
Tax-free bangs, way to go!

Roosh, do you have an affiliate program set up for your books? Since you said it is a loss leader you could offer 100% commissions and make your money on the back end. I am assuming that is what you are doing right now anyway.

Just a quick note to anyone considering the Roosh V path to fame and fortune: It is both very hard and very easy to make money writing today. On the easy side, it has never been easier for a man to connect with readers and monetize their loyalty, than it is today. A few companies, Amazon in particular, will walk you through the process of designing and printing a decent-looking book, and let you keep over half of the royalties, 70% on e-readers. The traditional publishing houses are dying, which is great for all authors, but especially for chaps like us who will be writing content that would never make it past their politically correct gatekeepers.

The hard part is that a lot of things have to come together if you want to build a successful blog. Little things like web design and self-promotion are cake, but it takes most writers years and years of grinding to find their voice and start creating content that anyone else cares about. It's a mountain that I think would be very hard to climb if you don't genuinely enjoy it as a hobby.

That said, whether you monetize or not, writing is a great way to organize your thoughts, publicly commit to goals, and find similarly-minded people to learn from.

Agreed, there are so many costs you dont think of when traveling. Im traveling over 2.5 years straight now and still spend too much money every place i go. Esspecially taxi and drinks can break the budget.

Roosh,

Do you seek employment, be it legal, or illegal cash in hand in the countries you visit?

Im assuming you make the bulk on your sales on 2 or perhaps 3 books, and the rest you did just for the lulz and dont really mind if they sell or not.

Thats a pretty decent income for something you where doing anyways. Congratulations, I guess we can say you are living the dream.

Writing is the world's biggest joke. You'll get a genius like John Updike sell only a couple thousand copies of a masterpiece novel that took 5 years to write and elevated the English language to new heights.

Then you'll get a ditz like Stephanie Meyer write a story for the first time in her life, make it into a novel after only 3 months, and then go on to sell millions upon millions of copies. She now has a net worth of +200 million dollars.

Joke.
