Honestly, I think the whole DSM-IV and everything that pre-dates it in the field of psychology is a big circle jerk.

well, most everything. Modern society has taken humans so far from the biological realities we were designed/evolved for. People adapt and cope (or not) in different ways. There are seven billion and one ways to be a human, everything in the DSM-IV is just behavior that doesn't fit into the value system of the status quo.

I'm not a psychologist, but think about depression. I'm pretty sure according to science that means you are sick. In reality, it means you aren't doing shit right in your life. You need to adjust, and start heading in a different direction. If you don't, the 'depression' is going to get worse. No need to take pills.

I prefer this over a deflated sense of my sexual ability and entitlement.

I use the attitude that leads to sex.
