From what I know, male performers make practically nothing. And why would they? If Hustler put out an ad for male performers to fuck a hot woman on camera with no pay offered, they'd have a line a mile long with guys willing to do it for free. I've heard it's so tough for guys to get a career in porn that many straight guys have agreed to be "gay for pay" and do a gay porn just to break into the adult industry. Shit, talk about selling your soul! The only ones that make any money are the ones that have a name for themselves, like Ron Jeremy. Not that I understand why anyone would want to see a fat guy that looks like the character from Super Mario Brothers fucking. I've heard even the female performers make table scraps. Just enough to support their drug habits. Unless they are household name type porns like Jenna Jameson and in strong demand.

I've been doing some research into the subject because I have been fondling the idea of starting a venture. From what I've read the typical male performer makes about $200-$300 a scene. However, the porn industry is one of the few areas where women mostly call the shtos and are the big money makers.

Amateur chicks can make $500-$600 for a scene. It can creep up into the $1000-$2000 for a full movie and these are unknown, no-name, amateur, college or girl-next-door types that walk off the streets. The bigger names like Asia Carera and Jenna Jameson obviously make a heck of lot more than that per film. And even at those costs producers are boasting huge profits because let's face it "Sex" is more stable than currency in that respect because it fills a truly insatiable public need.

Anyhow, I was curious about Roosh. I wanted to know where he truly stands on the topic of potentially starring in an adult film. I get the feeling though that he may be more than willing so long as he doesn't have to shave his jungle, lol.

I interviewed a porn director for a magazine that I wrote for, and he said basically the same thing: the girls can pull in six figures, but it's tough for guys to make a living from it. He also said it's more physically demanding for the guys, and a lot of them can't make the cut even if they somehow are able to break into the industry.

That's funny that you look at it like that. I think one of the things that holds me back from doing certain things is the possible effect it may have on my future. Though, I wonder, since porn is so accepted in our culture (or it may be my southern californian culture), people in the future are going to care less about the sexual/professional choices one made in the past.

Also, the rate of herpes and other stds is pretty high in the porno industry, so is it really worth (maybe) making $200 sexing up a worn out porn star, and doing it till you're numb, and possibly getting The Herps?

Not to mention some are idolized for their porn careers or episodes. We live in a country where a woman becomes famous because she made a tape of herself banging some dude (Jenna Jameson, Kim Cardashian, Paris Hilton and etc).

Not that porn is a social norm these days. Most people will deny it when asked to their faces, but I believe a good portion of America is secretly pleasuring themselves to porn. But who cares really.
