If so, don't go to Las Ramblas (as I have said multiple times, although no one seems to listen).

Regardless, I "pickpocketing" doesn't factor into my "safety" rating.

Yes it was mostly around the main tourist area (Las Ramblas, the pier).

Yes apart from an unusually high frequency of pickpocketing and theft (including break-ins to accommodations by the way), I didn't notice any other alarming safety issues.

I agree with you about Charleston, it's a hidden gem really. And I love me some cute, gorgeous, sexy and genuinely nice southern girls.

Overrated:
-Barcelona; like some have said, it's mostly tourists. It has great nightlife and offers a lot, but you can find the same thing in other cities + more hot girls, less tourists.
-Los Angeles but I haven't experienced it enough to say it with confidence. But the fake blondes aren't my type at all.
-Rio de Janeiro for me is way overrated. Maybe because I like the thinner model gorgeous type like you see in Argentina and Milan, compared to the thicker bustier girls you see in Rio. Beautiful city that everyone has to experience at least once, but it is way overrated in my opinion.

Underrated:
-Milan
-Toronto
-Charleston
-Miami (some actually say it isn't too good in terms of hotties... WHAT?!?!)
-Paris
-Beirut

You're going to diss LA, Barcelona, and Rio and then rep Toronto? Ass-backwards...

Prague was another good overrated.

Atlanta should be noted as underrated.

Most Overrated/Underrated Place You've Been

This week I just finished my around the world trip which took 2 years and 2 and half months and took in about 47 countries.

Over-rated : Rio, Anywhere in Australia (seriously, dont go), Hawaii, Turkey (the most dickheadish guys in the world by far. only italian, aussie and greek guys come close), Prague, Sweden

Under-rated : Guadalajara Mx and nearby Guanajuato, Philippines (once you get out of the major cities), Austin tx (mostly for the parties and live music. local girls are nothing special), Indonesia (but stay out of kuta unless you like tourists and hookers and dont go during ramadan), Lebanon (hottest girls in the middle east), bulgaria, albania, romania, finland, moldova, lithuania

I met some really awesome Turkish guys in Istanbul when I was there. They invited me back to their house for an afterparty to smoke weed and drink raki and were trying to get me laid with one of their female friends I was hooking up with. Could have just got lucky though.

Overrated: Costa Rica - There is something to be said when almost all of your more-attractive women are imports from Columbia or other countries.

Underrated: Salvador (Bahia) - I agree with another poster about this place. Although I do not agree with others about Rio being overrated (I feel it is rated justly), Salvador basically stopped me from going to Rio (or had me reducing my time in Rio during a Brazil visit). The women were more friendly and TO ME looked better than the women in Rio.

safety etc of Barcelona?

The pickpocketing plague when I was there a few years ago was out of proportion. Speaking from personal experience, from what I've witnessed, and from numerous stories from fellow travelers (not from the internet).

99.9% of the stories I have heard are on or around Las Ramblas.

Have you heard the same?

If so, don't go to Las Ramblas (as I have said multiple times, although no one seems to listen).

Regardless, I "pickpocketing" doesn't factor into my "safety" rating.

I am talking more about getting jumped by skinheads, punch ups with organized crime figures, and robbed and pistol whipped at gun point.

Barcelona doesn't seem to have that.

On another thread, you said you had never been to Barcelona.

And you had never been to Los Angeles.

Has this changed? Or are you just yapping?

Your comments make it seem like you have never been.

"But the fake blondes aren't my type at all. "

LA is a little more than just "fake blonds". Seems like a comment from someone who has only seen LA on TV.

"it's mostly tourists"

On Las Ramblas yes. Other parts of the city, no.

"but you can find the same thing in other cities + more hot girls, less tourists. "

If you are going to make a claim like that, back it up holmes.

Bust out a list of cities.

Again, I will refer to my question that has no takers:

"Is there another world class, big city with a more beautiful beach? Warmer water? Sure there are, but the list is pretty light. (And do those cities have the art, Topless Girls, architecture, food, nightlife, safety etc of Barcelona? The list is even lighter. If anyone has an answer to that one, I have said before, that I am all ears.)"
Just got back from Barcelona 2 nights ago actually G, and I stand by my claims 100%. I went for 2 days only because I was on my way to visit a friend in Paris, but it was a very fun 2 days nonetheless. It's a beautiful city, everything about it is beautiful. Even the girls, but there aren't as many as the hype claims, and IN MY OPINION you can definitely find better quality and more quantity in other cities. Not saying Barcelona is terrible, I'm just saying it is overrated.

As for the list; Montreal, Miami, Paris, NYC (maybe they're even). I would even put Milan ahead of Barcelona in terms of quality and quantity, but I haven't been there long ENOUGH to claim that, only went for 2 days as well.

It seems as though Barcelona is your #1 city by how much you defend it... How long did you go for? Or how often do you go back?

So in the meanwhile you also went to Los Angeles also?

"I went for 2 days only"

Question: How much of those "2 days" were spent on Las Ramblas?

I am guessing at least part of those "2 days".

"IN MY OPINION you can definitely find better quality and more quantity in other cities."

"As for the list; Montreal, Miami, Paris, NYC (maybe they're even)."

So you were only able to name one city that partially satisfies:

"Is there another world class, big city with a more beautiful beach? Warmer water? Sure there are, but the list is pretty light. (And do those cities have the art, Topless Girls, architecture, food, nightlife, safety etc of Barcelona? The list is even lighter. If anyone has an answer to that one, I have said before, that I am all ears.)"

"How long did you go for? Or how often do you go back?"

I have probably spent 14 months of my life there.

Barcelona strikes me as the kind of city that the more time you spend there and the more time you get connected, the better it becomes (very much like Buenos Aires in that sense). I went there for three days, and my impression was that it's not the kind of place you can get your money's worth in that short amount of time.

I think that is a fair and accurate assessment.

Great topic, i have to go with two brazillian cities

Over-rated - Rio de Janeiro - I think Rio is just too over rated, you dont really see that amount of bad bitches everywhere as some other places i have been. The media makes Rio look like a paradise plus girls are not as easy as other places.

A few days ago, i would agree with you on this. Now i had two SNL's in the past two days. I changed my technique. Yesterday i took a girl fro ma club to a love motel in under 45 minutes. Must say, she aproached me madly.

Under-rated - Salvador - I think Salvador is too under-rated, i dont know if it is the fact of people there being darker skinned but you see bad lighter skin bitches there too, you get all there. Salvador is a paradise if you into darker skin chicks with phat booties, it is also one of the few cities in the world where you get to party hard from monday to sunday. It has its downsides but its worth a visit if you havent checked it out.

That sounds good, i'm going there tomorrow or day after tomorrow for a week. Planning to do some damage there because i like dark skin and phat booties.

Rio is over-rated and SP sucks? Personally think you are crazy. Rio is out of this world on so many levels. Sampa isn't quite on the same level but for 24/7 partying and beautiful girls you can't really go wrong. Great city.

I agree that Costa Rica is highly over-rated, living in California, that's all you ever hear is people raving about Costa Rica and Hawaii. It is a beautiful country, but it's all set up for and over run by tourists.

The full moon party on Haad Rin beach, Koh Phangan, Thailand was probably the most overly hyped and over-rated event I've ever been to in my life. Needless to say I didn't get laid, but from my impression it was a sausage fest filled with Euro trash roid monkeys, shitty ass trance music, and sloppy 18-23 year olds.

There are plenty of hotties, but there is a TON of competition for said hotties. Which puts you in a very tough spot to bang any of them if you are in Miami short-term of less than 30 days and limited funds.

Even for those that live there, it is not a "fuck-a-hottie per day" paradise. It takes a lot of work and social proofing out da motha to bang a Miami hottie.

Underrated:
Fort lauderdale, FL.
Orlando, FL
Sarasota, FL/Tampa, FL.

FLL is packed with hotties that have better attitudes, little brazil is 10 mins away, and women are more DTF than Miami girls, especially the ones between 25-35.
MCO is just filled with horny women who do not get enough dick.
Sarasota/Tampa....just go!

Mixx -

Keep it hush on FLL.

Ha.

That place is a g*ddamn cake walk.

Way more girls than guys and the competition level is laughable.

The "tough guys" there are as soft as the leather on my Custom Made loafers. And I am twice as good looking as the "token good looking guy" in the bar there.

When I post up in South Beach, I will hit that place up at least once per month.

Mixx, what are your thoughts on making that place a Base of Operations? Would it get old too quick?

I went there in Feb, and I am still working off leads I generated back then. No joke.

That being said, I need to hit that place up like Marvelous Marvin Hagler.

Hell, I should probably hush on the place too.

@G manifesto: I've already written a book. I'm just finished my second draft!!! Hopefully it will be released in January.

As for DR, yes I swooped Miss DR and had a good time there, but being objective, it's mediocre. I was expecting more with all the hype. Night-life wasn't super and girls were so-so. Mind you, I loved the music.

I much preferred Haiti [Image: smile.gif]

Overrated--Beirut: some of the slums are charming, but it has no downtown to speak of other than a cookie-cutter mall and wannabe Eurotrash snobs who think they're doing it big because they have a TGI Friday's. Also, the socially conservative, golddigging nature of Lebanese women is ridiculous. You can't even open a tab in many bars because shameless sluts will act like they're with you and order hundreds of dollars worth of drinks on your credit card.

This place is hilariously hyped up by Lebanese the world over, usually by girls because they get (literally) 1000-fold more attention from horny, sexually repressed men with oil money when they'd just be a regular broad in an American mall.

Underrated- New York City: This city's greatness is not emphasized enough.

Speaking as somebody who has been to Amman, I would say that anybody who visits the Middle East to "party" is a very misguided person. I fucked a Jordanian international student in college, but the possibility of fucking her in her own country would have been slim to none.

Most Arabs don't drink, are mostly poor, and their parties are very family-oriented. You're talking about a region that is so sexually insular that ~30-50% of people marry their cousins. Not just poor people, either.

I've chased tail in FLL for the past 15 years while living in MIA. I'm still not tired of it! You also have Delrey Beach (Little Brazil), Pompano Beach (Bigger Brazil) all a stone throws away - sooo much pussy to cover in these areas! I'm still not tired of FLL and surrounding cities: Pembrook Pines, Boca Raton, DelRey, West Palm Beach, fuck...you can switch up new places every week!
