I wanted to tag something onto an old thread but I couldn't really find a suitable one.
Anyway, the topic of this thread is simple:-
1)In workplaces, when have you seen complete idiocy - sort of arguing black is white in regards what are appropriate workplace practices?
2)How do you propose we try and deal with this and try and stop it?
Here's my example. I go into a bar/club locally. Its a biggish floorspace and holds not far off 300 people. The staff are all tiny little 19 year old girls (bar staff), a male landlord, and 2 door security (used to be 3). The security are usually a nice guy who doesn't seem at all "heavy duty". The 2nd one is a female, who is frankly a non-event. Locals pointed out a ruck was developing and she just looked as if to say "oh I didn't know I have to do that". Anyway, the landlord came in and somewhat dealt with it, with the assistance of some locals. My view is that relying on locals or any non uniformed security can actually make incidents far worse.
Moving on, an incident was recently reported in the local press. 2 innocent guys got badly battered, one getting a broken jaw. Naturally, security were well out of their depth. The newspaper comments section was quick to identify the stupidity of the staffing situation.
You'd think the club would rectify the situation? Their solution?
Go from 1 mae+1 female security to 1 the same rather lightweight male and TWO female security. The females aren't some Shaolin temple types or giant MMA bulldyke weirdos either. They're a tallish skinny pretty girl and a nervous fat girl, the sort who you know was bullied in school.
This is a pretty rough edged club. Huge numbers of the clientele are bodybuilders with lots of tattoos etc. And there are often visitors from nearby rival towns thinking they've got a "free shot" at causing shit.
Obviously the security firm and the management want to peddle SJWism and "you go girl" shite and "the best man for the job is a woman". But its complete bullshit. They're not even effective females. Because effective female security are extremely few and far between, in comparison with men. Soon staff and customers are going to be badly hurt, all for the sake of some crackpot political extremism. They're trying to groom us into believing men and women are EXACTLY the same. But even a spastic can realise they certainly are not. Its arguing black is white.
