Extremely sick, need advice

@JimBobsCooters The first two months of waiting were on me; I was stuck in this stubborn mindset that I would get better on my own, but to no avail.

The system failed me when I decided I needed help, but was denied because of unfilled paperwork. I'm currently in the middle of calling someone to get this sorted out. You think my situation is bad? Others have died in hospital beds when someone "forgot" them in a corridor somewhere.

There's some really skilled people out there, doctors, orthopaedic surgeons...etc but even they can't give people the help they need due to rules and regulations. It's an injustice.

How much can the bill be? You are in France right? I paid $90 when I checked into an Australian hospital without a card or insurance. I imagine you can bring the bill to the place that issued you the card and they will pay it. That's how it works in Australia so it might be similar. It sounds like you are approved for the card but you just haven't received it?

Do a little reading on Herpes 6 and 7. There is a lot of new literature out that which points to many of what are referred to as autoimmune diseases (hate that term) having strong associations with these viruses, virus which are poorly understood and seldom studied until recently. Anything from MS, Lupus, Chronic fatigue, endocrine problems, alzheimers, etc, etc... Basically, any disease the nerds can't explain is an autoimmune disease. Not conclusory by any imagination but interesting reading. I'm talking scientific papers not chat rooms. Unfortunately your doctor will have no idea what you are talking about if you bring it up, and the system is not really equipped to handle inquiries into these viruses. Also you are probably a little old to have just been recently infected, and/or you probably should have had a bad fever when you first got sick. Just start with wikipedia and go from there.

This problem is beyond the scope of an internet forum. See a doctor.

I understand this 100% Roosh

Maybe the wording of the thread wasn't accurate, real medical advice isn't what I'm looking for, only ideas/suggestions/leads towards something I can act upon myself.

A few years ago I had a chronic joint injury. I saw every specialist under the sun, spent thousands on physiotherapy and still nothing. I took some time to learn everything about that joint that I could, damn near becoming an expert.

Long story short I narrowed down the list to a very specific issue, told someone what I thought the issue was and that I needed to see an expert immediately. Before long, the orthopaedic surgeon in my area took a 2-3 minute look at me and scheduled me in for surgery, for the same injury that I was 99% sure I had.

I understand it's more complicated for issues with enzymes, hormones...etc, but I just want something tangible I can look in to if the GPs can't help me, which is always a possibility.

@burneremail82 I just found out today that a private visit to A&E is a lot cheaper than I thought. At least I won't be stuck if I get really bad.

@LowerCaseG I'll have to look in to that later. Thanks for sharing.

If the private visit is cheaper than you thought, go today!

By your own description you symptoms are distressing, intensifying, and with your set of symptoms a medical professional is going to have to draw blood, run tests. If it's a bacteria/fungus/virus/worm, you get one set of drugs, if it is auto immune you get a different set of drugs. If you have a structural problem, you might need surgery. In any case the sooner you start treatment the better your outcome. The longer you wait, the less healthy you are going to be when treatment starts.

At the point you aren't sleeping well, your ability to act on anything yourself beyond getting to a hospital is compromised. Becoming an expert on your condition isn't possible when there's too many options and a ticking clock. At this point research on your own is likely a net negative, because it is robbing you of time that could be spent waiting in a hospital for treatment. What you can control is how long you make yourself wait before professionals start drawing blood for the lab.

If this was a wagering sort of thing, I'd put some money down on systemic fungal infection of some sort but... the money on the other side of the pot would have to be interesting. Not the sort of odds to wager your health and bodily integrity on.
