Make no mistake about it: Cardinal Pell, who can now be named back home in Australia, is having his downfall celebrated precisely because he was an uncompromising Catholic clergyman in the mould of Benedict XVI.

I stand by what I said earlier in the thread. And I will also say this: the manner in which he was prosecuted and convicted, with a full-retard idea of beyond reasonable doubt, portends very, very badly for the future.

The evidence against the more or less ultra-conservative Pell has been just as pitiful as the evidence against Labor/socialist leader Bill Shorten, who was accused of rape for years but cleared by police. It was purely about testimony in both cases, but Shorten did not even face charges and Pell was convicted. It is a farce and then some.

The second boy was “abused” despite him explicitly denying it before his death. What a joke. I’m all for punishing proven pedophiles, but the same stick beating guys like Pell is the same stick that beats rape-accused men in college.

The testimonial evidence presented by the prosecution on behalf of the sole accuser was pathetic when taken by itself, even if it was around twenty years old and did not represent the oftentimes 30-50 year gap in reporting.

Pell’s conviction is a giant leap towards an even more dystopian legal future. Pell goes to jail, Shorten becomes Prime Minister.

I'll admit my visceral reaction to seeing Catholic priest and sexual abuse in the same sentence was hang him.

But the evidence looks non existent, and the trial has been a farce.

I'm disgusted by this shit. Bearing false witness in these types of cases ought to carry a life imprisonment sentence. You ruin an honest mans life - yours get ruined as well.

Even the Super-Leftard ABC Radio National story I heard earlier pointed out just how shaky the case was i.e. almost certainly didn't happen.

My FB feed is just celebration/jokes/calls for blood.

I'm sure he knew about this kind of stuff going on within his organisation, kept it quiet and deserves to face consequences, but this is not justice.

All based on the word of one liar who kept changing his story when it was proved to be impossible, and his dead junkie mate (who denied it) the only other witness.

The Catholic church has sold its soul to the devil long ago. They're really doing their best to keep you informed of it too. It's a testament to the slavish obedience of Christians that they manage to summon up the cognitive dissonance to continue to dump money in the collection plate every week.





Pell was very high up. Don't bother trying to tell me "he was one of the good guys". That's not how a satanic mafia works. Everyone in that organisation above the position of local parish priest can burn in hell.
