The fact is that until the advent of firearms, most "hunting" actually involved setting up traps. Not as sexy. Meat has always been supplemental in the human diet and like you said, I'd like to see how many of these strict carnivore badasses will fare if they had to wake up every morning trying to take down an animal that is likely bigger, stronger, faster, more aggressive and has a better sense of smell & hearing.

As for diets, no one knows anything. Only diet I adhere to is avoidance of processed food and seed oils.

Disagree, that might have been true in some areas, but in many others, there was an inexhaustible source of animal protein: salmon runs, fishing, giant herds of herbivores like the American buffalo of the great herds in Africa. The main problem there wasn't the supply of meat, it was the neighboring tribes that coveted territories rich in game and fisheries. Seafood was inexhaustible because there was little in terms of high seas fishing. When the Portuguese first sailed the Atlantic, they discovered giant cod colonies that were the size of large cities.

The age of the hunter-gatherer ended in areas where civilization sprung and grew, like the Mideast, Europe and China, but this development is very recent on the human evolutionary scale. In places like France, hunting game became the exclusive privilege of the noble landowner by the middle ages, while the serfs and urban dwellers ate animals raised by farmers with varying frequency depending on their wealth and land productivity.

This thread highlights the problem with the modern American diet. Essentially, we are now in the second generation of women working en masse. The culinary arts and domestic know how have been denigrated, women have been brainwashed into believing that their self-worth depends on their career, so many of them barely have any cooking skills and have been stripped on their ancestral culinary heritage.

That's why you get all these fad diets that change radically every 5 years. If you go to France, Italy, Spain or Greece you will find that most people have very good diets that are also quite healthy, and extremely delicious, and well-balanced, with for instance plenty of fiber (no need to take fiber supplements). Food culture is a central part of the culture, it is less affected by market forces and social engineering, unlike in America and the 5 eyes countries.

I have been in the gym for 20 years and built up a good base. When you reach my age it is all about keeping trim and most important the belly down.

At least 3-4 days a week I have meatless day. A big lunch with all the hippy food like quinoa, couscous, lentils, beets, kale, chickpeas etc. Greens and veggies help me have glorious shits, it is common for me to go twice a day.

Greens and veggies are good for the dick, that alone does it for me.

At night, I will eat a lot of peanuts in the shell.

My weakness is that I have a big sweet tooth, if I could cut that out then I probably would have a 6 pack instead of a 4.

Meat is hard on your system, your body has to work hard to break it down. It stays in your system for up to 3 weeks, it also creates mucus in your body.

I don't touch dairy, maybe once in awhile I do some egg whites. My body is sensitive towards dairy and I am lactose intolerant.

I eat chicken and fish once a week, like others have stated I pay extra for the organic grass fed stuff.

Steel cut oats for breakfast/lunch.


Careful with the oats mate, supposedly they have a lot of glyphosate, go for the organic if that's part of your routine.

Meat in reasonable quantity and frequency is quite all right, especially as part of a balanced diet. Anytime I have a steak, I will have a large side of greens along with potatoes, either string beans or broccoli, with carrots. I steam them then saute them in the same pan I used for the steak, delicious!

As well, stewed meat is easier to digest, I eat a lot of that in winter. Also eat cheese nearly every day, my ancestors weren't lactose intolerant. That's one dietary item that varies a whole lot by region.
