Not many people will know who this guy was, but for those of us who love world cinema, Hashimoto was one of the greatest ever writers. He worked and wrote for the famous Japanese film director, Akira Kurosawa. Hashimoto wrote the script for the films Rashomon (1950) and the Seven Samurai (1954) which was remade in 1960 as The Magnificent Seven by director John Sturges, starring Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson and Steve McQueen.
