Untangling Cristiano Ronaldo’s bizarre family situation (NY Post)

I wouldn't say Ronaldo is gay but definitely effeminate in certain ways. Keep in mind that his father was a deadbeat alcoholic that died when he wasn't even 20 I think, he was also quite violent. CR clearly has unfinished business over there and that left a scar. Who would have thought you get more feminine when raised by mother and sisters basically? It's natural frankly. And his list of girlfriends is miles long. I mean, it would be just too much to "mask" being gay. If you're truly gay, the idea of having sex with a woman must disgust you, so....

I don't even understand this kind of criticism, though at least you have steered away from the "he's gay" stuff.

Ronaldo has faced more adversity than most of us ever will (and that's purely based on his footballing career) and his ascent to the highest rungs of football was never certain.

Speculating on the impact of his father is just that - speculation.

I honestly don't think Ronaldo is the most talented player or even close to the most talented because there were probably more talented players than him who gave up or didn't have the perseverance.

If 85% of your daily movements were tracked by your club, your national team, fans, television stations, the internet, and journalists from the written press, I'm sure people could easily form an impression of you, me or anyone else for that matter. That impression could be charges of "effeminacy", "laziness", "arrogance", "ignorance", "self-absorption", or something similarly unflattering, yet not necessarily correct.

From his teenage years, he was followed by a camera, hence the archive footage and photographs of his pre-transformation etc days. Like any human, he probably continues to wince at reminders of the look he had back then and avoids going back to it like the plague.

If Ronaldo has the flaw of being slightly too concerned with his posture or appearance or mannerisms, to the extent that he appears "effeminate" to some, so be it.

If you read the whole post and still looked at it as criticism then you should read it again..... It's not as much as criticism as it is a statement of fact.

"Christian love bears evil, but it does not tolerate it. It does penance for the sins of others, but it is not broadminded about sin. Real love involves real hatred: whoever has lost the power of moral indignation and the urge to drive the sellers from temples has also lost a living, fervent love of Truth."

I would say calling someone effeminate, even if you regard it as a statement of fact, is a criticism, particularly on this forum.

But this is empowering:

Listen to the cackling bitch in the end asking what the next ex-wife will get in the next divorce. Russell Crowe being reduced to selling Hollywood memorabilia in order to pay for the glories of having signed on the dotted line.

And that is even a luxury scenario - the countless men who have been denied contact with their children and taken their lives are not included in that empowering non-bizarre message.

My goodness this is shocking. Russell seemed to be one of Hollywood's leading men not too long ago.

Good on him for not wanting to be divorce raped. I watched a documentary about him and I thought he was hiding in the closet to be honest but then again I've lived in England when he was there and I'm from near Manchester so heard a lot about his 'nightlife'.
