Over the last few years, I've been on a few of these free tours. They are hugely popular now in big European cities. Search them up before you arrive and get an itinerary. Big cities have more than one company as well.
The concept is that rather than pay for a tour, the only money that is made is through voluntary tipping at the end.
Generally the groups that exist on this are larger and younger than traditional tour groups.
I took one today in my city and it was great. Learnt lots of things that I didn't know about the city.
Anyway. It is a great way to practice indirect day game as well as find some good date locations. It is also a great place to find tourists and new arrivals, I have a new cute research student on a summer exchange who asked for my details. Landed two days ago. There were a couple of other tourist girls, apparently alone, who would also have been good prospects.
Basically hit big cities and add doing free tours to the repertoire. Stay to the back of the main group so you can easily isolate and have good conversation. If you are smart then have a possible bounce location if things are going well for the end of the tour. An ice cream shop or cute outdoor bar with a tourist view for example.
Our guide brought up dating culture and drinking culture at points which made it easy to discuss these and test how receptive she is naturally. Tour guides love to be asked to give recommendations too, this can be used to generate plans for what to do next.
While I haven't had any direct conversions from going on tours so far, I'm confident after today's experience that it is a really solid field for people to do. And hey, even if you don't get the girl, you get a bit of culture and learning for minimal outlay.
