If synthetic hormones don't work as birth control in men who do they work for women?

Taking estrogen for birth control (women) and testosterone for birth control (men) are similar ideas. The issue is that with men we know that it's not very effective but in women it's prescribed because it's 99% effective.

What if the attack on men's hormones and sperm count through chemicals and food is to be the other half of the coin that makes female birth control 99% effective? Creating the environment where Female Birth control would be effective.

No. First off there is estrogen based birth control as well as estrogen progesterone combo birth control. Hormone based birth control in women works by controlling endometrial growth of the uterus in women. Women tossing unused birth control pills into the toilet is harmful to men who drink tap water however.

Birth control mimics pregnancy, thus preventing ovulation. Men don't stop producing sperm, though estrogen would lead to lower spermcounts.

Estrogen progesterone combo sounds like using deca instead of a normal testosterone ester.

Hormone birth control in men would reduce the size of the gonads.

@Aurini men can stop producing sperm while on anabolic steroids.

Exogenous testosterone absolutely acts as make birth control by stopping sperm production.

The difference is it's not prescribed for birth control like estro is for women.

I have two children and my sperm count was measured at zero after extended hormone usage. I tried to get it back but over a year after discontinuing hormones still zero sperm. Been to many Eurologists and all but one was useless. Extended use of Male hormones can make you sterile so be careful. I thought I was done having kids but later changed my mind. I'm getting retested in a few months.

Agreeing with others here - TRT absolutely does act like birth control. I took a home sperm-level kit test 6 months after I started and it didn't even register on the test. Even if your count is not totally zero ( like from a vasectomy) you are going to be sterile for all practical purposes since making baby's are a number game, and your number is really, really low. So it's like 99% effective. If she's at a low point in her cycle, it's going to be like 99.99% So definitely not impossible, but very unlikely.

+1 TRT can render you close to seedless even at a 150mg weekly dose, it effectively shuts down HPTA. Before i got a vas i checked myself and was basically sterile after a few years of TRT. There were still plenty of swimmers just not in high enough quantity to ensure inseminaton but enough to make me want to get clipped. Best thing ever.
