I really liked the idea of setting the bar low but being disciplined to it. I have really let myself go in the past few years, it began with dual knee injuries and I just sort of stayed in that lazy state.

My resolution this year like so many was to get back in shape. But did I go out and get a big box gym membership? No. I’m beginning by making myself do 100 pushups a day. Doesn’t matter how many sets. Did I purge the home of all “unhealthy” food? No but I am bi linger eating sugary breakfast cereal ( my main sugar issue) I want to get to the point where I am cutting out pretty much all processed foods it this year I am really focusing on small steps over about a month. IE come February I’ll add some a few more exercises and another small diet change.

@Razgriz

Not a bad way to take it Brother, I’m sure you know that discipline is like a muscle - you need to train it and it atrophies if you let it. Make sure to mind your plateaus, make haste slowly and all that.

When taking things as you are you can fine tune over time. After a month try intermittent fasting, or a meal replacement shake, add and subtract things from your diet to see how things affect your mood, try dropping carbs completely, give the cyclic ketogenic diet a shot, etc.

Sure, progress may be slow but you can course correct over time.

Honestly, you just have to want the results enough that making the decision to eat the right thing and train becomes easy. If you're consistently slipping then you just don't want it enough / are too comfortable in your current state.
