They were celebrating excessively at the University of Florida and so were escorted off the stage. There is also a rule like this in the NFL.

Fast forward to 0:15..

The college president apologized after the action was described as racist.

Quote:Quote:

It's a tradition for culturally black sororities and fraternities to "stroll" across the graduation stage and perform their Greek organization's signature dance, but that tradition was interrupted Saturday at the University of Florida by an "aggressive" graduation marshal.

Video footage showed the orange-and-blue clad marshal physically hustling the celebrating students off the graduation stage — at one point bear-hugging a male student and dragging him away. The videos have spread widely on social media, with many critics calling the actions racist.

On Tuesday, the school announced the faculty member serving as a marshal has been placed on paid administrative leave "pending a review of the appropriate administrative steps." He was not identified.

As criticism mounted, UF's President Kent Fuchs apologized on Twitter on Sunday for being "inappropriately aggressive in rushing students across the stage."

To be fair, he looks pretty badass in the blue and orange outfit.

I imagine similar scenes occurring in the royal courts of times past in Europe.

These graduation ceremonies take forever, so I'm all in favor of anything to speed up the process. That said, strutting across the stage is the whole reason to show up. The rule should be, you can do whatever dance or move you want (no nudity, of course), but it has to fit within the 10 seconds you have to cross the stage. Anything more and you'll be tackled.

They should do it like churches do. A lot of churches now have a traditional service with hymns, and a contemporary service with christian rock worship music.

Schools can have two graduations, one dignified for people who still like that kind of thing, and one for acting like you're in a Mardi Gras parade.

People are probably gonna turn this into a race thing, but I see this as another example of a post-9/11 persecution of fun. America has lost its sense of humor.

Agreed, looks like it was just one marshall who was just too uptight. No need to make it about race.

Be glad that this isn't a thing in the USA:

They probably had some rules about excessive celebratory dances - the black students who remained calm were fine.

Everything is racism with an anti-White bent in our times. It's amazing that so many folk insist on wanting to live in the US despite all this.

I'm all for a quick celebration...a quick one...but show some dignity. Commencement ceremonies are no place for slut drops.

Good commentary here, with more video for context.

Looks like he was pushing all races off the stage with varying degrees of force. A couple of the black graduates got more force than others, but some didn't too.

Also looks like he got the job no one wanted.

I bet it was in response to complaints from people attending. Even a high school graduations is tedious to sit through. It would be twice as long if everyone did a touchdown dance.

1. Something happened

2. RACISM!

Rinse repeat

I'm not sure it's good that R words are losing their meaning (rape, racism), but it sure beats the hell out of thinking we're all racist rapists.

The day they realize their degree is worthless, because all they did was dance and party for 4 years...

Its UF...everybody that enrolls there knows that degree is worthless going in. Going there is just 4 years of partying and deferred adulthood on someone else's dime.

Everything unfavorable to those kinds of folks is white supremacy. When metoo# finally impacted bill cosby its white supremacy.

Anyone else notice how every story of alleged racism begins with black people failing to abide by the rules of civilized society?

The Illuminati Benefits package literature is like 3 volumes. Shit you wouldn't believe: discounts on cryogenic freezing, (buy 2 centuries get a 3rd free), cloning packages (the clone exchange sex parties are a hoot). Not to mention the swag you get during pagan festival season events.

But its the little things that matter though like that girl flashing the "dont even fucking think about it Poindexter" free pass sign

Every story of alleged racism divides people a little further, because different people perceive them in the exact opposite way.

Liberals: "Racism is everywhere! How could anyone be blind enough not to see it when there are so many examples?!"
Conservatives: "Everything is made into an issue of racism! How could anyone not see the anti-white bias in media when white people are constantly portrayed as villains?!"

"Mister Johnson, I see by your Facebook page you mostly got drunk through college and then made a mockery of Western academic traditions by having to be ushered off stage due to wanting to perform a ridiculous dance during the graduation ceremony, but while I would never normally hire you our particular government branch has not yet met it's affirmative action quota. Can you start monday?"
