Look for the biggest, heaviest books you can find and then pick them up over and over again until youre tired. Repeat that simple activity for life.

no book is going to help you if you do not take action.

And sometimes, you are just fucked.

Knowledge is useless without application. If you have read those all the stoics, Frankl and so forth, start applying their lessons. Search youtube for the stoic exercises to help you start applying philosophy in your own life. Read up on framing and how frame is used in the Game. I'm in similar boat with mild to moderate depression. It took time for me to internalize the lesson of the Stoics to degree that depression can not control me. In my opinion, that best way to help you.

Depression is natural short circuit of the brain for depressive thoughts, you can reprogram your mind in a sense with stoic philosophy to stop it.

You aren't shit without producing something. That's tough for all of us to hear, but it's true.

What's a product? Things that women (and even men) appreciate about you...

Money (business, new job, new career)
Toughness (martial art or boxing)
Fitness (working out)
Art (woodworking, paintings, drawings, fixing cars, etc)
Interesting life (travel solo, moving to another place, courage in abandoning your home)
Interesting person (toastmasters, talking to chicks, etc)

Oh, and they all suck to do, at least from a "fun" perspective. It's fun having done them (having $, being tougher, having created art, etc), but most of the process is defeating.

Once you've chosen to devote a time to at least one of these things, now you can go read a book about having the mindset to conquer. I suggest Jordan Peterson's book, but again, as other's have said, it's a motivational waste of time unless you apply it.

(you can critique any of those items pretty easily, but you get my point)

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

I think they meant books to relieve depression.
