Or, alternative thread title of; VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET!

Following on from the 'Who's watching Vikings on the History channel?' thread, and this comment from myself;

'The Vikings' SJW corruption hurts worse, because of the sinister historical revisionism. I'm becoming increasingly aware of the importance of 'voting with your wallet'/buying is voting' (there should be a thread if there isn't one already on what should/shouldn't be supported/clicked on). As I'm the person who would normally go out and buy the dvd box-sets of shows like TWD and Vikings, the fact that I've suddenly stopped buying their crap surely has to start hurting the fuckers.

and then Zelcorpion's response here;

Essentially you need to avoid, not support close to anything.

The thread - should be named "AVOID ALL MODERN HOLLYWOOD WITH THE EXCEPTIONS NAMED IN THE THREAD".

And even then - the people may disagree on the level of propaganda they are aware of. Hollywood could produce quality content, there are certainly quite a few Red Pill writers/producers who are even aware of Game or even have more than a passing knowledge of it. But they are not allowed to put that into the movies - you see at best flashes of it here and there.

The best thing is to simply not feed the beast - cancel even HBO. You can spend several lifetimes watching old movies from the 1920s to the 2000s.

So, if 'buying is voting' and 'clicking is supporting' I'd like to find out what forum members would endorse/oppose when it comes to what we all buy and read online in our daily lives? Starting with Hollywood etc, but can be opened up to everything.

Starting with myself; I'm utterly disillusioned with Hollywood and have gone from going to cinema once a month to once or twice a year. I don't buy box-sets anymore, but I do subscribe to Netflix (at least I can choose what to watch and can upvote/downvote stuff). I read a lot (paperbacks from charity shops but also kindle ebooks from Amazon). Obviously Return Of Kings and Rooshvforum gets a big thumbs up website-wise, but I try not to use the BBC, Guardian, Independent for news etc. Taking things further afield, I try to use my local shops as much as possible rather than the big out of town supermarkets. When buying toys for the kids, there is a store in the UK called 'The Entertainer' who's policy is; 'Nothing is more important in our business than our own people. The Entertainer supports the “Keep Sunday Special” campaign and are dedicated to putting family first. For this reason, The Entertainer closes on Sundays so staff can spend time with their family and friends.' So I've tried to shop there rather than ToysRus (who have inexplicably funded Planned Parenthood).

In essence, if during your day you are buying/reading/clicking anyway, are there any easy ways of replacing the bad with good? Travel to work via bike (fuck oil), buy your morning coffee from a family cafe rather than a chain, get your morning news from Breitbart rather than The Guardian? Gab over Twitter? If my (our) clicks can help a site that deserves it, what should those sites be?

To simplify, if we had a GOOD list, what would go in? If we had a BAD list, what would go in?

Interesting thread Richard.
Completely agree with what you said.
I try to buy locally and I make a point of frequenting businesses there hire mostly or all Irish people.
And I limit my transactions with businesses that seem to hire almost exclusively non Irish staff.
Also if a store is selling mostly imported goods (particularly if it is non European), I usually give them a wide berth.
Ireland has in recent times seen a scourge of '2 euro' stores selling cheap tat from China, Pakistan, Turkey, etc
I wish people here were more discerning with their cash but these shops are opening up all over the place.

With regard to movies:

http://ayearofnothingnew.com/2018/03/introduction/

I'm also have the belief that one truly great book/film/series studied well and poured over offers more lessons and insights than a 100 average ones.

Examples include Battlestar Galactica, The Wire, Terminator 1 and 2, The Searchers.
Back to the Future and its trilogy ooze Red Pill Truths as well a funny, sincere and moving way with multiple storylines all done brilliantly, no wonder it resonated so well with so many unknowingly.

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comm...ll_truths/

I thought Only The Brave and Blade Runner 2049 were classics recently.

I'll say this it feels pretty bad to scan store DVD/Blu Ray sections and watch films and I can see the propaganda were as a teenager I'd be indifferent to it.

Good idea for a thread. I actually wish there was a conservative website out there that filtered out the degenerative trash from the decent stuff in pop culture.

Anyways in my entertainment consumption world check out Movies, "Jurassic Park World", actually develops a careercunt go girl, into something that has motherly femininity, plus chris pratt is on our side. "Ready Player One" is a ode to gamers of the gamergate kind.

With videogames, "kingdom come deliverance" is probably the best protrayal of medievel Europe ever conceived in a videogame. "The legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is a adventure game that has clear good/evil lines and celebrates friends, family and communities. Its also a fuckin great open world that feels alive and unique in every nook and corner.

Broadly speaking anything John Milius, Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood, Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, Peter Berg, Slyvester Stallone, Terrance Malick, Mark Whalberg and Chris Pratt either made or Star in are worth your time.

Steven Speilbergs output in the 70s, 80s and 90s is mostly good stuff. Although his personal politics are shit.

Stanley Kubrick is the king of em all though. The preeminent "woke" movie director.

In videogames, anything made in Japan. They continue to output games that are more grounded in universal themes like love, family and scarifice.

I thought the same about Jurassic World. Frankly, I'm amazed it got past the sjw gatekeepers with its anti-careercunt message. Good batch of names there! Milius, Gibson, Eastwood, Nolan etc. Some of them are from yesteryear, but It's heartening to see that there are still a few dissenters kicking around in Hollywood. I've never seen many Vince Vaughn films, but I gather he belongs in that crowd? James Woods as well?

Video games is a good contribution. I've only ever played my son's old Skyrim game for the last two years (level 60 Stealth Archer) so I'm out of the loop when it comes to what studios/designers (if any) are in our corner?

On the comedy side, I've been watching Bill Burr recently (following a thread I read on here recommending him) and he's fucking hilarious. If he isn't red-pill himself, he certainly deals with red-pill themes.

News and current affairs are a real problem, especially in the UK. The Spectator used to be a good read but they've put up a paywall recently. The Telegraph and a few other uk papers/sites cucked out for me during Brexit.

Music-wise? I was bench-pressing to Rammstein the other day, but I fear they are raging lefties like the rest of the music industry.

Then don't watch them, at all. Seriously, literally 5% of it has any direct relevance to your life, and you can most likely get that through other Internet sources or even through word of mouth via places like here.

"But they reported yesterday that someone from Rotherham got convicted for child sex trafficking." Got any kids? Live in Rotherham? Know the perpetrator or the victims? If you're raising your kids right and your male instincts are switched on you won't need Jessica Fossington-Smythe-Gore with a journalism degree and a massive chip on her shoulder against men to tell you who the bad guys are. Voting changes virtually nothing in pretty much any nation of the West anymore, that's why they gave the vote to women and thereby doubled the number of people who had to get sufficiently pissed off about anything to effect a meaningful change. Lower your circle of care to closer match that which is in your circle of your personal responsiblity, your circle of what can meaningfully be affected by your daily actions, and the daily/hourly/Tweeterly news becomes virtually irrelevant.

News sites are basically the same as newspapers: all they're good for is the weather and the date, and they even get those wrong from time to time.

I remember seeing the quote that was funny and rather profound "Did you ever notice they manage to fill newspapers on a slow day to the exact amount of pages the day before had, regardless of what's happening in the world?"

Synthwave, Manowar, and videogames and classical music are your friends.

Example, Most games I'll never play and I've basically given the hobby up, but their music is incredible and the real talent is sequestered in these niche areas.

Synthwave and NewRetroWave movements are positive, upbeat, nostalgic and yet forward looking, tends to avoid degeneracy and is one of the great revelations of the last decade, it can all start to blend together, but the talent and skill and voices are so damn good it always leaves me feeling great. It's what "popular" music ought to be, its modern music done with 80's style synthesizers and moods. When I first heard it I thought "They just went and created the music genre I always hoped they would". You can find harder stuff too easily, Lazerhawk or Turbo Knight being an example.

Check Midnight and FM-84 plus Mitch Murder to see if you like it.

I'm more than guilty of doing the same things as yourself and it hasn't brought me any extra happiness, in fact it was and now more so is away of escaping my problems, so if your going for escapism you may as well be escaping (or exercising) with material that is lighter and not have you feeling darker about the world. Delusional perhaps? Yeah, but these problems existed long before I was born and will exist long after. So I've come full circle in my views. What a mostly pointless waste!

The Japanese have always poured real soul into their games (Old FF and MGS), they often will go out if their way and into debt to save wrecks/clusterfucks of projects and they will pull some gold out of the heap, FFXV is badly executed but the themes of brotherhood and male friendship are nowhere to be seen in mass media in the west, and yet it still managed to hit the right notes despite the clunky way it was delivered.

The musical scores have been on a level beyond Western ambience like scores for decades, films scores in particular have mood music now and are not distinctive in any way.

Have you ever played Yakuza 0? fantastic story, fun, hilarious and yet somehow serious and they two never seem to contradict each other, it should be better regarded than the Witcher, reminded me of little we have that kind of universal storytelling in the West in many mediums.

People talk about the Japanese culture being obtuse, but they have a better grounding what makes life fufilling and it shows in their works

Good advice from uncledick and Syberpunk regarding Japanese games/media. What you've said corroborates my own observations with watching the odd Japanese animation and also playing the Metal Gear Solid games. I find myself admiring the Japanese more and more as I watch my own culture crash and burn.

Syberpunk, I love those musical snippets and I'll give them a go. My musical tastes are eclectic but anything stirring, heroic, aspirational or uplifting gets my vote. Sabaton is another one I've been listening to recently.

In terms of video media, I hear Bitchute is a better alternative to Youtube? Most of my favourite videos on Youtube have been purged recently I've noticed! Similarly, half the people I follow on Twitter are now banned!

Speaking of TV and boycotting it, I was post-gaming with some chicks, low-key scheming on one I had banged a year ago and they turned on Ru-Paul's Drag Race or whatever the fuck it's called. Basically America's Next Top Model but with fags fagging it up to the extreme. I have never felt such a visceral reaction of disgust from seeing something on TV. It's insane how much TV has changed in the last 5-10 years. The girls were loving it so I dipped out pretty quick.

I rarely watch TV these days, mainly if I'm with a girl. Quality issues aside, I can't justify it watching the tube when I could be practicing guitar or something. That said, I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey recently (pretty sweet film and had no idea it was made in 1968) and enjoyed South Park, which I had never really given a chance.

Young Jennifer Connelly - most movies with her are worth a watch.

Most older movies have little propaganda or some have close to zero.

Kubrick has kept most of his work free. Even George Lucas including the prequels kept the crap out of it.

Then there are actors like Charles Bronson and Clint Eastwood who had done plenty of Red Pill movies - even Red Pill compared to their own times.

As for anything new - there is soooo much incredible propaganda in it, that basically some indie movies are even remotely bearable. Anything else is chock-full with:

+ feminism
+ social justice
+ anti-Western memes
+ anti-White propaganda
+ anti-male propaganda
+ anti-gun propganda
etc.

There are a multitude of other points raised that are added - global warming, vaccines, colonialism, slavery, media being all free (hehe) and politics being mostly good people being corrupted at times.

I take it you mean the original Battlestar Galatica?

In general, I would agree with the sentiment that most new movies are not worth going to. I have only seen maybe one or two a year that interests me at all, and most of them are directed by Clint Eastwood these days. This has been happening since at least five years ago and more like 10 for me.

I have two reign checks for a free admission from two years ago, but the only thing that I want to go see is "Chappaquiddick" right now. I did want to see Churchill, but missed it in the theaters. Given the good reviews of "A Quiet Place," I may go see it, but not likely. Horror Movies is not my forte.

I just had to give a huge LOL and point out the hilarity of this quote. Multiple last names is a covert sign of degenerate feminists. Parents probably divorced or had a non-traditional marriage, bitch decides she will use both names, then she might get married and split the names again. I laughed out loud at this.

@Richard - if you think Rammstein are too left-wing, give Komu Vnyz a try. The music is based in Ukrainian folklore and the band members are all card-carrying nationalists.

Similar in subject matter, I do find it amusing and sad that every other week we here a reboot of a TV series, or a remake of a classic movie these days. So much for creativity and originality.

There are very few serious American directors currently who actually seem to understand human beings and want to bring a unique vision to life on the screen, while employing some sense of aesthetic and honoring their craft.

Here they are:

- Martin Scorsese
- David Fincher
- Paul Thomas Anderson
- Wes Anderson
- Sophia Coppola
- Alexander Payne

Pretty much it.

There are also some guys who make good movies every now and again:
- Coen Bros
- Steven Soderbergh
- Jim Jarmusch
- Quentin Tarantino
- Jon Favreau

As much as it pains me to say it, the once-genius Terrence Malick is a shell of himself and has lost it to navel gazing permanently, so I have to leave him off.

Think that pretty much covers it...

(this list is for people still actively working and/or alive)

Denis Villeneuve is great too and relatively new and I was going to include him, then I realised he's French Canadian, moody films but very good. Though many would disagree with Arrival. Prisoners is probably his most grounded film.

Jake Gyllenhaal can be in anything and make it roughly 5 times better just being on screen.

The writer Taylor Sherdian who wrote Sicario, Hell or High Water and Wind River is good as well, they all are modern Westerns in different settings.

I forgot Woody Allen, mainly because I just don't see any merit in his work post 1999, but technically he is still alive and working.

I guess Midnight In Paris was watchable.

He is a master though. Even in the late 90s, when people were shitting over that period of his work, he did a few really great films:
- Deconstructing Harry
- Celebrity
- Sweet & Lowdown

Those are all pastiches of Bergman and Fellini, but I never got the criticism of that (as if Bergman and Fellini didn't crib from others all the time). They are FANTASTIC and supremely enjoyable pastiches.

Deconstructing Harry (scene when Harry is caught teaching his very young son about appreciating sexy women, while at school):

You still support Netflix one of the most SJWy companies there is. And you still occasionally read The Guardian of all places one of the most anti white, anti male publications that exists. I would be more discriminatory. Definitely never read anything that asks you to turn off your adblocker.

I find it exciting that bro-humor Broken Lizard's "Super Troopers 2" is outperforming Amy Shumer's "I Feel Pretty" despite the latter being distributed to almost twice as many theaters.

Quote:Quote:

RELEASE SCHEDULE
April 20 -- Theaters
I Feel Pretty -- 3,440
Super Troopers 2 -- 2,038

Quote:Quote:

SATURDAY AM UPDATE: With an estimated $7.9 million on Friday, Fox's Super Troopers 2 is leading the weekend's new releases and heading toward an anticipated $15-17 million, well ahead of expectations. The film received a "B+" CinemaScore from opening day audiences.

Nipping at Super Troopers's heels on Friday is Amy Schumer's I Feel Pretty, which brought in an estimated $6.25 million on Friday and is expected to deliver anywhere from $17-18+ million for the three-day weekend. The film received an overall "B+" CinemaScore, though among females under 18 it received an "A+", and an "A" from females under 25.

John Wick 1 and 2 are highly recommended, I thought they would be mindless but arty shoot em ups for the Reddit crowd, I heard of them a few years ago, but I'm delighted to say they're brilliantly directed revenge films with great world building, excellent. Though some would say his motivations are slightly askew....

Also Keanu Reeves seems to have taken a wide berth of any controversy and lives low key, takes part in gun competitions for real and it shows on screen.

Collateral is another great film done by Michael Mann who also did Heat and Miami Vice (the tv series and film). He's fallen to the wayside in recent years but he's painstaking on detail and atmosphere, and mostly does crime thrillers. Another film of his his is Thief from the 80's. He has a very strong distinctive style. Last of the Mohicans is also his work.
