FarCry 5 Has Liberals Confused

TL;DW: Most every character is a conservative white person, but very few characters are actually bad guys, and the villain is sympathetic. Big City Liberals confused because all conservative white heterosexuals are supposed to be evil.

I think this has been posted in the video games thread already? Where it probably fits better on this forum.

I agree with most of it except that the villain is sympathetic?! Maybe I'm not far enough into the game yet (around half way through the story I think), but so far he's just the usual sadistic cult leader lunatic with a Messiah complex - dialed up to 11 and not pictured as some kind of example of conservative extremism - using brutal murder, torture and drugs to recruit or eliminate. I have a very hard time picturing him showing major redeeming qualities later to counter all that. Just another villain who would be at home in countless action games or movies from the last numerous decades.

I know with FarCry 4, Pagan Min wasn't very sympathetic until you realized that he was the best option for the country, with the one lady trying to make the country into some weird theocracy that supported itself through opium sales, and the other guy wanting to just be Pagan Min himself, but worse.

Once you got through the end you realized that the Golden Path were the real terrorists, and that Min was trying his best with a bad hand.

Pagan was a psychopath, but he was by far the best character.

Amita was the communist narco-state pusher who ends up taking everyone's kids to become loyal soldiers year-zero style.

Sabal was the one who wanted Kyrat to return to a theocracy beginning with a child sacrifice (Badhra) IIRC.

But Pagan was not exactly a good guy. Murdering people for little to no reason on a constant basis? He was a legitimate psychopath, not just an embattled yet benevolent dictator. Still, I think the funniest and most poignant line in the game is where Ajay has just liberated the first outpost and Pagan tells him "We had such plans, not just for our family but for Kyrat! It wasn't always like this. I long for those days. I tried. I really, really did, but this place is ruinous. Try not to let them drag you down, Ajay. Ishwari didn't send you back here for that".

Testament to the dump-truck of red pills I've taken since my first playthrough, that when Pagan says in the opening scene "This was supposed to be very simple, but you know if you give food to monkeys, they just throw their shit at each other" I just shrugged and thought, "yeah, pretty much."

The game should have ended when it began with Ajay staying at the royal palace and being a voice of reason. Things probably would have worked out better for everyone.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

I let Pagan go at the end of Far Cry 4..... It just felt like the right thing to do

I was a little peeved that the game was only 10 minutes long, and that you just stand in a dining room. [Image: banana.gif]

Sounds like a great game.

There was a recent worry about SJW's infiltrating gaming and subverting it, Anita Sarkesian, gamergate and such - so I am glad to see unapologetic and masculine games are still being made.

I have never played anything from Far Cry series, have no time for gaming in my life right now but defiantly putting it on my future to do list.

It's not really that either. Mostly just Ubisoft taking the probably smart business decision to not really take a political stance in either direction with the story and characters (unless choosing to have conservatives, including various rural but nice - and trigger happy - stereotypes as the good guys trying to liberate their county from a religious and murderous cult, counts as taking a political stance).

There is a secret ending in FC4. At the beginning when you are at lunch with Pagan and he goes away and tells you to wait for him, you just wait. He will come later and you will go together to scatter ashes, like in the original ending.

You really think retards like Sarkesian and these up-talking, soy guzzling little pussies can actually make something like Far Cry 5?

Sarkesian was probably like a 6.5 in her prime growing up, maybe a 7; attractive yes, but not so much that she could just spread her legs and then she doesn't have to ever work again. There is no greater one point difference on the classic ten point scale than the difference between a 7 and an 8; a 7 is attractive enough to date without shame, an 8 is a girl you show off at every turn. Really it's like the difference between academic work: a 7 is a solid but unspectacular B, an 8 is very good work.

'Why isn't they're someone like meeeeeeee in this game!?'

Because there's nothing interesting or unique about you, but tv and movies have a lot to offer on that front.

I also find it funny she a few years back got all this money for her 'professional videos' But she's made very few of them and they're something that looks like what a moderately skilled teenager could make. And she didn't give the money back... I wonder what she had to do to be allowed to keep the money?

There are 4 soyboys in that video, at least half of them are gay, not that it matters but fuck...it seems to them that anything unapologetically manly and slightly controversial is 'problematic', and that between California and the northeast there's nothing but an empty Ocean.

I probably won't buy the game because the series is buggy as fuck, but at least it's pissing off the children.

I've read there's a similar one in FC5. Don't arrest the cult leader when prompted to do so during an early sequence.

I never got very far in Far Cry 4, didn't care for the game world which I found very bland and artificial. But maybe I'll give it another shot after FC5. Not that I don't have plenty of other unfinished games I would like to finish sooner or later, such as Assassin's Creed Origins and Ghost Recon Wildlands.

I've actually become quite fond of not finishing games. Ever since Sambro expressed his disappointment about having to play the bitch at the end of AC:O it started to occur to me that the end of the game is where the writers are forced to wrap things up and put a period on the whole thing, so it inevitably leads to an ending that the political correctness lawyers are willing to put their stamp of approval on.

Prior to that you can just enjoy the game space without narrowing things down to a final bullshit outcome.

FC3 was a prime example of that. The whole second island is a giant yawnfest leading to a contrived beta yawnfest ending. Bitch, did you forget that I'm Jason-fucking Brody? I just killed like ten thousand fucking guys and you think you, an utterly replaceable cunt, is going to force me to make a choice? You ain't forcing shit. Drop the knife or I'll kill everyone left in this tropical shithole.
