I recently read a few interesting articles which were quite eye opening.

I'd add that the eager beta is like an insect mesmerized by a light source whereas the alpha like a hawk has the bigger picture, is on a higher level of consciousness. That's why he is defiant, it's like he knows stuff that others do not and that's attractive. I'm thinking this alpha-beta dichotomy exists between my boss and me...but not for long.
