If the original poster is from the United States, and the leader of a foreign nation is bragging about indefensible super weapons pointed at the United States and capable of destroying it, then why would that make you happy? Putin’s announcement is likely due to the fact that a week or two ago the US got into a skirmish with Russian mercenaries in Syria and the US fucked them up and killed almost 300 of them. This is a rather humiliating defeat for Russia and they have to save face.

Comrade Putin coming out with his new hypersonic weapons is a good thing for both America and Russia. The (((Deep State))) now has the total war option with Russia off the books (unless of course they want to bring out hidden alien technology they are saving somewhere in an undisclosed base ). In my analogy, he was bragging about how he can better target deer. I don’t see how having a common enemy, or even admiring Russians, changes that fact.
