Going abroad as an exchange student to game

OK so I´m throught sort of a dilemma right now. I´m a 21 old colombian student, and to finish uni I have to go abroad for one semester. It won´t do much in terms of accomplishments, since it´s just a couple of subjects, so I would like to choose the best place to game in your opinion.

I can only go to already pre-selected universities. My top 3 so far are:

1. University of Hradec Králové - Czech republic

2. Universidad Rey Juan Carlos - Madrid

3. Linkoping university - Sweden

I could also go to places like germany, Austria or the US. What do y´all suggest?

As an exchange student, you'll have fun in any EU university you go, provided it has a strong Erasmus population.

So no choice is a bad choice. If your Colombian university has exchange agreements with those 3 universities, chances are dozens of universities from all over the world have similar agreements. So you'll end up meeting girls from all over the world. And latinos with game kill it in Erasmus parties. Google for erasmus blogs/ experiences in those cities to get an idea of how big the student population is.

Out of those 3:

- 1. CZ probably the best country for a Latino. However it's a small city, so make sure there is a big student population.

- 2. The biggest city on the list, exchange students from all over the world, big Erasmus parties.
Locals won't be impressed by a latino (negative stereotypes). But foreign girls who go to Madrid to study go there to improve their Spanish, so you can assume they are into latino culture/music. So you'll probably outgame local guys, specially if you dance salsa.

-3. Never heard of that uni. Latinos do well in Sweden, but again make sure that there is a strong student/erasmus comunity so you don't end up in a city with only 20 Erasmus students (can happen in small Scandinavian unis).

Also do you get the same amount of financial help regardless of destination? If that's the case (or you don't get any help at all) CZ will be half the price than Sweden, so you'll get much more bang for your buck. Madrid and Prague are halfway in between, but CZ cities outside of Prague are way cheaper.

Ultimately you'll have fun anywhere you go as an exchange student, and those will probably be some of the best memories of your life. But also think long term.

Is any of those unis more reputable in your particular field?

Does your career benefit from having that name on your CV?

Which one is more likely to be highly regarded in Colombia if you decide to go back?

And abroad? Being from South America can have the negative stereotype of "easy education" in some fields. Having a respected university on your CV can prove you are not one of those guys.

Si al final te decides por CZ, avisa cuando visites Praga [Image: wink.gif]
