A husband's heart-warming reaction to his wife's daring new haircut has seen a video of the moment he sees it for the first time go viral.

Filmed by daughter Praize Kirkwood, from the US, and shared on Twitter, the clip sees her dad nervously waiting in anticipation for her mother, who's sporting a dramatic new hair-style.

When Kirkwood's father finally sees the makeover - a close-cropped dyed blonde do replacing long dreadlocks - his reaction is priceless, as he tells her 'You look like a Hollywood film star!'

Kirkwood captioned the clip, which begins with her dad shuffling nervously from side-to-side: 'So after 20 years of growing her dreads my mom wanted to cut off her hair. She wasn’t sure how my dad would react tho....but this is how he did.'

It's hard to know who's more surprised when the moment of truth is revealed, Kirkwood's father... or her mother at his very loving reaction.

More than 14,000 people have now watched the video, with thousands commenting to say it's left them feeling warm and fuzzy inside - and wishing their own love life was as adoring.

@kelcadet penned: 'But why am i crying! I love their love....like he adores her. You can tell. Cheers to your parents. P.S. your mom is stunning!'

@Spanky2345 added: 'Your mom is so beautiful & your dad just fell in love with her all over again.'

@cherylbeebeauty added: 'Omg I cried. Your dad is so amazing. Especially when he said she looked like a star, your mom smiled so big. That ladies and gentlemen is that forever kind of love. Yessss. Ps your mom is stunning'.

@donaldplump666 gushed: 'oh my god, your mom is S T U N N I N G (with and without hair literally she could put anything on her head and still be beautiful).

Another, @rumchampion, said simply: 'Your parents are goals AF wow'

Many wanted more details of what Kirkwood's mother looked like before, and she duly obliged with photos showing longer dreadlocks.

Others even pointed out her father's fashion choices were on point: @Fluffyovens wrote: 'How he look good in double denim, have a gorgeous wife, a beautiful kid, and literally love every single thing about ya mother... some people be so lucky huh?'

I actually got really annoyed when I read this story. The woman actually looked really good at first and I assumed maybe she had cancer or something, but she willingly did all of this. I just can't believe her husband loves this new look.

"growing her dreads" = accumulating 20 years worth of shit within her hair. Husband is probably happy to he doesn't have to put up with their stink anymore.

And chances are, she'll get overly sensitive and defensive when someone suggests she should grow it back out.

That's how it's been in my experience.

She's a WB based on that pic with the dreads. Meh seems like a happy family, good for them.

I'm more concerned about the daughters name "Praize". I hope her resume doesn't get overlooked too many times.

It's funny how one twitter responder laments her inability to find a guy who appreciates her hair no matter its appearance, or some retarded conflation, and credits the ability for a man to appreciate his wife to the older generation. An older white man at that. These hamsters are consumed with a subconscious desire to return to 50s patriarchy. Their innate childishness and failure to assume and meet adult responsibilities are coming home to roost.

The issue isn't the haircut. That issue is what led her to the drastic changed in the first place. That is what is missing from the story and it is the part we do not have any back knowledge on. Most times women do drastic hair stuff when they can't look themselves in the mirror and need a reboot. This reboot usually follows a breakup or something else that sends a shock to her hamster. Maybe she is getting the itch to bail, or she senses her dude is. There is a psychosis that leads women to those "makeovers" so something is freshly rotten in there dynamic one can assume.

Also, when I seen she is a black women I more or less tuned it out. You'll never win with the black woman and her hair situation. It's a complex third rail situation that I have learned not to touch. You give your input as to what you like and prefer and you get out of the way. It is a topic that could be a thread itself.

Lastly, black woman more or less are the only girls who could get away with short hair in a larger percentage over other groups of girls. I'm not saying I am a fan of the style, but typically black women will have more large eyes, lips, cheekbones, and other feminine facial features to go along with greater hips and curves that give them rope to not have to use their hair as a feminine signal versus other groupings of women. A woman, like Emma Watson for example, is just a boyish girl with long hair. Take away Emma's hair and she is a boy looking woman (she is hyped and unattractive to me for those reasons). A woman like Watson needs her hair to be a reminder signal for her as she is woefully deficient in other more classic feminine areas of aesthetics.

Just watched the video.

Woman was smart having him turn around like that so that she could "surprise him."

That way he knew that she might look truly dreadful and could prepare himself to give a positive reaction no matter how horrifying the reality was.

Smart woman.

This has nothing to do with race.

This is a new movement for girls to be even more empowered and stand up to the male’s definition of beauty.

2018 Prediction.

Normal girls shave their heads for no reason but to rid themselves of any feminine identity.

US & Canada gets the ball rolling.

MSM reinforces this is the new beauty standard via news stories, YouTube, TV programming, ads, movies...

P&G stock will crater.

Hair clippers for barbers are the #1 sellers on Amazon.

Western MGTOWs will socialize with robots. They can’t cope with the modern woman.

Bars will close.

Remaining Western heteromales will be sent to re-education camps to accept the new beauty standards or go to jail.

Women are slaves to attention and group think. Every girl can go chop off her hair but no woman can stand that awkward phase when the hair regrows and looks like shit. Literally some will hide thier heads like cancer patients and stay inside. No record of her existing will be on her Instagram if she went through the hysteria of buzz cut to regrow. This is why it will never catch on because that madness that women endure during that regrowth period won't be worth it for them.

This isn't going to be a trend perse. You see two camps emerging with women getting into fitness and being in shape versus dumpy feminists who are fat with green hair. Far too many women are rejecting the SJW look of beauty because they can get more likes in their spandex with a gym selfie.

Lots of girls doing the avocado/vegan and gym shit these days. You get lots of attention being one of these types of girls online. SJW has low ROI online. You only get traction being in some dumpy social circle or writing nonsense for some site like Jezebel. You get IG likes wearing spandex and holding an avocado - that is what motivates women these days. Always see what the herd is doing.

Women cutting off thier hair has a short shock of attention but quickly unravels into a mess. It won't catch on. Also, few some have the face and body to pull it and end up looking like pug dogs.

If I see an ugly or just okay looking girl with an continual buzz haircut it just tells me she is crazy. I've yet to be proven wrong. All have been head cases.

Things like this are why I'm happy I moved back to my "shithole" region where I grew up. I live a small city of 50k with a large student population and still never see these types of girls. Had I never moved to Ann Arbor, MI for graduate school, I doubt I would even know the SJWs existed outside of tumblr or even about this forum.

I will give this lady a pass because she is black. My experience with black women is that they struggle with their hair more than any other group. The crap a woman like Beyonce has to go through to have nice hair is crazy.

Also... my bet is that she is going to have a closet full of wigs. That should help with the feeling of sexual variety.
