DNV GL and VeChain will give a big announcement on 24th January. It is probably one of the first time that a big corporation is tweeting directly about a crypto partner. Being long in VeChain was a good deal during these last few days.

VeChain is back at ATH and it is now 21#. Coca-Cola Kid hinted on Twitter about new partnerships. Real world blockchain application, yes sir.
When the speculation on bitcoin will finish and it will crash, only the serious coins with a real usable product like VeChain will remain.

Constantly growing to ATH: in this moment it is the most solid coin, going up like a rock and simply not giving a fuck about the bitcoin fall; I imagine this will keep going till the rebranding. The strategy to postpone it to end February seems to have paid. People are accumulating to reach the # for creating MasterNodes and be rewarded with additional THOR. Could be in the top 10 already before the rebranding but my prediction by year end is among the top 3.

If we assume $58B MC to take #3 away from XRP, that'd put VEN price at $213 per. I'd like that.

#20 coin now at $8.67 per.

I'm very curious to see what the event on the 24th will do to the price. (DNV GL is having a joint event with Vechain guys to discuss their partnership.)

This is fun. Another night of no sleep.

What's most impressive is that this coin seems to be detached from dips in BTC and ETH.

Bitcoin is getting trashed again. BTC is nowadays a disgrace and the market always follows. I hope that there will be more exchanges offering VEN / USD to keep the price a bit more indipendent.

Wish I had a bigger position, VEN has been extremely resistant to downturns along with Monero.

Are you all just holding your VEN? I would be tempted to sell some of it right now to:

Take some profit in USD and hold it for a while the market sorts itself out. (or USDT if you're betting on it not collapsing in the near future, lol)

Or

Lower your average cost of some coins you are HODLing and not planning on selling no matter how low they go. Daily/Dollar cost averaging the buys.

This is because I had a few coins in my portfolio that I thought were 'immune' to these dips, but eventually they went red too. Now almost everything is. Maybe because more experienced traders were doing exactly what I said above. Then I saw other coins start to rise in my portfolio and then they quickly got sold off and are now red like everything else. Maybe this dip is sucking all the coins into it this way. I don't think anything is that safe right now.

Disclaimer: I don't own any VEN.

The fact is that it is pretty impossible to predict where the market is going. Yes you could in theory play selling now and buying if there will be a VEN dip. But there will be a dip? The recent dynamics of VEN says no, and it is showing resilience, all the time after an ATH it is only matter of days since the next ATH comes. If you're not an experienced day trader it is likely to get screwed and ending up re-buying VEN at 11$ because the dip didn't take place.
Better to hodl, simply, if you think that the project is serious you will be rewarded without wasting time to check continuously the charts looking for dips. Tomorrow AMA with DNV GL: curious to see how they will talk about business and in what terms.

Ya day trading is pretty stressful and statistically most people suck at it. I've tried it a couple times. Got burned once, and a minor profit the second time. Not going to do it again.

I'm hodling. Have a target and if I hit, instant sell.

Wouldn't even dream to day trade; technical analysis seems like modern-day voodoo to me, even though I respect guys that use it to make money.

My philosophy: We haven't even glimpsed the possibilities of blockchain, and VEN seems like a solid project right now.

I've been buying VEN too. But it seems strange to me that since this news came out, the price has been going down. It the market considered this positive news, surely the price should be going up!

Everything's going down. Ven was massively overbought.

Yes the rise was very quick and the circulating coins change from coinmarketcap supported the idea of VEN being overpriced. Anyway I imagine that the correction is almost over, hopefully we have a support till the next announcements. The rebranding will take place in only 1 month! This is by far the best crypto project around, together with Ethereum so it is only matter of time to keep rising. Hodl and forget!

Not sure what your issue is with the MC?

Given what they've announced, it should be a lot higher than that (and I'm betting a lot that it will be.)

Can someone explain why the market cap has nearly doubled when the price has nearly halved? Have they been pumping more tokens into the market or something?

CMC had the circulating coin count wrong and finally corrected it, so the MC jumped.

How high should it be right now? Keeping in mind that at this point Ven is no more than a ERC20 with partnerships and a white paper.

Higher than Monero, the premium privacy coin?

Higher than Neo, an already working dapp/ico platform?

If they actually deliver, I agree - the price will go up and deservedly so. But right now it's a hard sell to say that the price is more than speculation.
