You should watch the show. It’s 8 seasons in and hasn’t deviated. If anything, the characters become more outlandish (at times) compared to their previous portrayals. And they already have a sensitive/vulnerable type in Figgis, who tends to be the butt of Archer’s jokes, reinforcing Archer’s alpha status.

In fact, Figgis could be seen as the polar opposite of Archer (but well hung by all accounts). In episode 5 of season 6, the episode ends with Cheryl having Krieger in a headlock, Pam choking Ray from behind, Lana throttling Archer, and Cyril masturbating in the corner (textbook Incel/Beta). There are repeated demonstrations of Figgis’ hopeless marksmanship (a metaphor for his lack of success with women) as he lays down “suppressing fire” without any intended effect, whereas Archer is a master marksman with little to no practice, as touched on in the OP.
