Any Oslo tips?

Guys,

I will be in Oslo for 3 days this coming weekend.

Any tips on dope spots to hit up, areas to day game, night clubs with a high chance of hooking up will be much appreciated.

Also, if any of you happen to be in Oslo this coming weekend, hit me up. It will be cool to hang out, grab a beer and even game.

I haven't been to Oslo in 5+ years so my info is outdated, one advice though... make sure you have a hefty bankroll! Oslo is one the most 10 expensive cities in the world.

Some of the most approachable girls you'll find in Oslo are Swedes working in the service business (ie waitresses, bartenders etc)

Any Oslo tips?

Spent a week in Norway in back in June but spent the vast majority of my time in Drammen and Krokkleiva. Went on a day trip to Oslo, the Aker Brygge section which runs along the waterfront is the main area for restaurants and bars. What sticks with me is how expensive the city was. Some bruschetta and a small pizza set me back nearly $40.

Oslo is very expensive, even more so than Stockholm.
As Vicious said, have a nice bankroll ready.

It is the single most expensive city according to the economist. I can believe it. Was there 2 weeks ago.

1 Oslo/Norway
2 Tokyo/Japan
3 Reykjavik/Iceland
4 Osaka/Japan
5 Paris/France
6 Copenhagen/Denmark
7 London/Britain
8 Zurich/Switzerland
9 Geneva/Switzerland
10 Helsinki/Finland

Except a small bottle of water and a small snickers bar in 7/11 to set you back US $10.

Yea, bracing myself for the stiff prices.

Altho, I live in Basel, which is not exactly cheap. So am more or less used to high prices.

Thanks for the tips. I'll check out the Akers Brygge and Grunerlokka areas.

Any specific clubs/bars which are cool?

There's a lack of data on Oslo in the forum. Hope to change that after this weekend.

Any Oslo tips?

A friend of mine emailed me this about Oslo about a year ago:

We rented a frogner´s apartment for two nights and after moved to comfort hotel near the opera house for 4 people it´s (70 euros/night).
The frogner apartment was near the nightlife. The hotel was cheaper (65 euros a single room/night) but located in the whore neighborhood.
Check out this link also:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destin...-stay.html
i didn´t stay in either but The Hotel Gabelshus offers dinners. Total price stay+dinner 100 euros.

The neighborhood were the (good) nightlife happens near the streets observatoriegata, and Soligata. I´ve been to Palace Grill on a thursday. Although it sounds like a restaurant it´s not after 22.00. It has a open terrace with warm weather it´s great. If you look at their site they don´t even have english version. No cover charge. Just by the line to get in you will see the talent. We went there from thursday to sunday. This two days were the best one. Worst was saturday the average age is above 45 years old. Don´t recommend going there on saturdays, but check it out by yourslef, just don´t expect it to get better has time passes cause it won´t.
Other club is la belle sole. Haven´t been there, but a friend "disapeared" for 2 hours came back saying that girls were also beautiful but were more stuck up.

I got tell you that the party on Thursday and sunday were one of the best I´ve been in my life. Specially sunday, we had low expectations on nightlife but that was the night my friends picked up the SAS girls. I only knew they brought them for the hotel, cause next day there was a Chardonnay bottle on the check out bill. Those fuckers payed something like 650 krones. But hey the girls were very good looking.

Don´t go to Karl Joahn gate by night it´s full of midle eastern and indian people. Planet hollywood is for tourists (I didn´t go there). Akker Rygge in the night is also a waste of time. During the day it´s great for daygame, specially TGI fridays, the left side when you enter.

The general atmosphere in Oslo is really relaxed. People are not acostumed to foreigners so they are extremely friendly. Girls are at the same level than the ones you see in Copenhagen during daytime. Very accesible. A lot of times I said I was Brazilian cause that would make them more horny.

Thanks LS.

I'll get back on Monday, hopefully with some great experiences and a solid data sheet.

I find norwegians to be a overrated bunch of people, they are hardly that goodlooking. To me anybody north of denmark start looking odd.

check there for example:

They have very weird facial proportions, which might be result of adaptation to harsh climate (in this case cold).
I find blonde continental europeans far better looking than overrated norwegians and swedes, but thats maybe because I like more longer, sharper noses and slender body-types.

You are using sixteen year old football players in training gear as an example? Tell me you're not serious...

I was going to say the same thing....I don't think using butchy soccer players is the benchmark in any country.

I'd be interested in a follow up. Is Oslo worth spending time there ? How does it compare to Stockholm girls wise ?

Is the blonde stereotype really true in Norway? or are they more mid brown or light brown/dark blonde than real blonde haired?

They are blonde. Really truly natural blonde. I've been to all four scandinavian capitals (havent yet been to Iceland) and Oslo trumps them easily for the sheer number of blonde girls walking around.

If you are heavily into tall, well built (but not in a manly way), natural blondes with awesome racks, Oslo is heaven.

The girls were the most feminine of all the four scandi capitals. I did see a few signs of the hypergamous culture creeping in into the nightlife, but it was no way as ridiculous as in Stockholm.

Plus Oslo IMO has the best balance of a modern metropolitan city combined with breathtaking natural landscapes, literally at its doorsteps.

If only it werent so darn cold, I would move there. For a dark skinned guy who dresses smart/sharp and is a fine conversationalist, Oslo will be very kind.

More details to follow up later including some very good nightlife/day game intel.
