The line has already dropped to 63 since I started typing this. I'm going 2 units on this one, I feel really strongly about it. Rutgers covered a ton of games last year as heavy underdogs because of great rebounding and defense. They had a bit of a lackluster performance in their last exhibition game against some doo-doo community college, I expect them to rev up the D at home. The tallest guy on Cleveland State's roster is 6'9". Rutgers big man, Sa, should be a beast tonight.

Also like the Under 206.5 for Nets-Celtics, regardless of whether Kyrie plays. Deangelo Russell is definitely out, and Kyrie obviously affects the Celtics offense dramatically. He's listed as questionable tonight with a broken facial bone that he will need to wear a mask for, if he plays at all. He had a great 41 point game while wearing the mask during his stint with Cleveland, but I just checked the highlights from that game and he had a lights-out jump shooting/3-pointers night. He seemed hesitant to attack the bucket (after breaking one's face, I don't blame him) and I think it was just an anomaly.

I have a bunch of picks today but my favorite is Monmouth U +17.5 at Virginia. Monmouth is damn good mid-major team that only lost by 10 to Seton Hall. One of Virginia's guards exploded for a career high 29 pts against VCU on Friday, which was obviously not the norm (they still only won by 9, and it was within 5 during the second half). Monmouth can score enough to cover.

I look at recent results, height of the starters, minutes that starters play (to determine bench depth), % of scoring from 3s, results against similar competition, and watch video on youtube to check their pace on offense and defensive schemes (zone vs man, full court pressure and trapping, etc.). Of course whether the teams are playing home/away/neutral, and what team of the two is more likely to institute their game plan and make the other team play their pace.

Adding one unit on Oakland Syracuse Uner 70 for the 1st half. The only way this hits is if Oakland shoots lights out right off the bat over Syracuse's famous 2-3 zone. It's their first real opponent of the year on the road in a wild atmosphere - don't see it happening.

UT Arlington (+11) at Alabama: UT Arlington just went into BYU and smacked them up. This is a real team and they can score. Alabama hasn't really been tested yet from what I can tell. I put 1.5 units on the spread at +11 and .5 units on the ML at +440. I'm also going 1 unit on UT Arlington team total over at 72.5

Evansville at Fresno State (-5.5): Evansville has 4 home wins over meh opponents. They only beat Binghampton at home this Saturday because one of their guys hit 7 3s. They STILL only scored 66 points. Fresno State dropped 50 in the 2nd half alone during a recent road loss to Arkansas. I like Fresno State at home here, tempted to go 2 units but I'm going to stick at 1.

George Mason vs LA Tech Under 143: Finally an under. LA Tech scored 112 against, 96 in an OT game vs SEMO (only 79 in regulation) and only put up 71 at home against a montana st team that had their best player injured. George Mason hasn't scored over 70 points in regulation all season, and they play good D (on the road, they held Louisville to 24 points in the first half). I feel that George Mason is going to dictate the pace of this game on a neutral court and keep it low scoring. 2 units.
