What are blue pill beliefs and rationalizations?

I've had largely original thought since I was 16 years old, perhaps even before, and it's always been quite different from what the mainstream wants people to believe. I don't really remember how or what I thought before; or I just didn't think about the world or society much.

I'm thinking no man can be that stupid not to see that something is seriously wrong with our society - so what are the rationalizations that happen? There has to be some serious gymnastics going on... About women, the media, world governments, immigration, globalism, politics, so called 'inequality' etc. I certainly know that the leaders of the left think very differently from their followers - I can somewhat relate to them but not to their followers.

How did you think when you believed the narrative?

You're giving the average person far too much credit. Most people just believe whatever they're supposed to believe without giving it a second thought.

Few people are intelligent enough to independently examine a prevailing narrative and poke holes in its logic, and even fewer people would actually want to do such a thing; humans have a much higher innate drive to fit in with their peers than to be factually correct and logically sound. It's just easier to blindly believe what you're supposed to. (Note that "what you're supposed to believe" is far different in downtown San Francisco versus in tumbleweed town Oklahoma, but the effect is still the same; this is by no means only a leftist phenomenon.)

If you still think there's any semblance of objectivity or independent thought to most people's beliefs, here's a quote from an 1850's progressive activist you may have heard of- Abraham Lincoln:
Quote:Quote:

I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the black and white races -- that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making VOTERS or jurors of negroes, NOR OF QUALIFYING THEM HOLD OFFICE, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any of her man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race."

That's right. Abraham Lincoln, dropped into today's world, would make Richard Spencer look like Shaun King. Objective truth about the nature of race hasn't changed in 160 years, but 99.9% of people alive today have completely different beliefs on the subject than 99.9% of people alive back then.

For the masses, belief is not about figuring out what's true, it's about mindlessly blending in with one's surroundings like a chameleon.

There are two main malfunctioning belief systems I can immediately point to.

(1) Perception matters more than reality.

(2) Governments are benevolent, notwithstanding they are made up of people just as flawed, fallible, and corruptible as everybody else.
