Went out for cheesecake last night because Rich would've done that on his keto diet and used "Right Babe?" on the waitress multiple times.

I love it how people try and say it was something other than steroids that killed him and steroids don't kill.

So does getting blackout drunk; snorting coke in a bathroom stall; texting and driving; gay sex with anonymous strangers; smoking pot based upon your genetic factors; pissing off the wrong hyped-up parents at their children's stupid sports game; getting a sex change then regretting it; or welcoming Muslim Refugees into your country.

People tend to selectively-ignore being scolded for their personally-favoured vice.

Man, Piana was my age. That's a sobering thought. Well, except I'm not drunk, and am already well-aware of death.

yeah I get it but a fuck load of bodybuilders die young before they hit 50 etc..heart attacks etc.. but if you talk to the gym rats ' it's not the gear.'

Being that big is hard on your organs. They don't really get better at handling the stress.

He had a great unfiltered nature that I don't hear from a lot of other guys, enjoyed watching his videos on youtube and taking inspiration for the gym. I'll never do roids though, maybe some T when I'm old and wrinkly way on down the road but that's about it.

Bodybuliders play the game of biochemical manipulation with variety of drugs and supplements to increase gains. The same is done in medicine, but it used to treated or prevent a problem. In practice, without understanding the tradeoff of screwing with your body with your drug of choice will lead to complication of earlier death. Favorite supplement, anabolic steriods for example gives you gains, but at the prices of your internal organs becoming bigger and leading to organ failure. The problem with Rich Piana, we have no idea why cocktail of chemical he used for his gains and thus cause of death will be mystery until autopsy report is obtained.

The problem with Rich Piana and many other bodybuilders is that Rich Piana had substance abuse issues that had nothing to do with steroids. I believe he was known to use cocaine as well as prescription medication. Add that with his insane steroid use and you have the perfect cocktail of conditions for a fatal occurrence.

Like all things, even when we discuss chemical abuse, typically it's the outliers. The average gym rat who does a couple cycles a year or is on TRT most of the time with the occasional blast can't be compared to people like Rich Piana or the top pros.

Just like the average partier in the EDM or party/festival scene who does a little coke every Friday or pops molly a few times a year can't be compared to straight up addicts.

There's levels to this shit. Rich Piana's steroid abuse can't be compared to the steroid use and abuse of the typical recreational users.

I remember he was one of the very first bodybuilders i watched on youtube growing up; an inspiring sight for any 12 year old looking to escape the plight of being the smallest of his peers.

My stomach had risen up to my mouth when I read the news; it almost feels as if I've lost an old distant friend.

Rest in Peace Rich, may your legacy live on forever in the hearts of those you've inspired.

Few posts have made me laugh harder in all my years here:

I did Rich Piana's non-stop 8 hour arm workout couple years ago. He promised that you'll add an inch to your arm within 24 hours.

Huge breakfast, followed by 16 protein shakes ... one every half hour throughout the workout. I couldn't drive myself back home and took 2 days off from work because i couldn't do basic shit like opening a door along with puking my guts out for a whole day after. My arms stayed the same size.

These workouts are meant for guys on a huge cocktail of juice.

RIP.

I don't like to say bad things about someone who has recently died, but guys like Rich Piana are dangerous. They advocate (directly or indirectly) a toxic, unhealthy lifestyle.

I'm not too knowledgable about steroids, though I imagine they're probably not good for you. What is definitely not good for you is overtraining to the point of looking like a Masters of the Universe action figure on — well, steroids.

What bodybuilders like Piana do has nothing to do with health & fitness. These guys want to be BIG, period. It's as though when they were young the word "BIG" got stuck in their heads as THE way to be. They're fixated on getting huge — they're afflicted with "bigorexia" the way a girl can become obsessed with starving herself.

I don't find anything inspiring about Piana. The best I can say is that if a man is interested in getting healthier, stronger, fitter — and yes, bigger — there are much better people he can find as role models.

Rest In Peace brother. Like him or not, approve of his lifestyle or not, he influenced and inspired a great many men to become better, stronger, and more motivated. I really miss him, his videos, and his blonde stripper from Florida ex (team Sara all day)

Yeah, like everyone Hollywood Actor celebrated by the media for packing on a huge amount of muscle in four months for a Superhero Role due to their personal trainer's seemingly-incredible knowledge of 'natural bodybuilding' techniques.

Condemnation or celebration of the same abuses is seemingly-dependent on whether a globalist companies stands to profit from the deception.

Rich was a pillar of the fitness industry and despite his infamous and controversial public image, everyone that actually knew him personally never had a bad thing to say about him. Everything I've heard seen or read about the guy from his peers was that he was as genuine and straight up as they come. He also basically single-handedly pulled the veil off of the mystique of performance enhancing substance use in the fitness industry and what the benefits and side effects are. Dude was honest and had no problem talking about things everyone else was too chicken shit to talk about.

It's tragic but also not a surprise. He surely knew his days were numbered as well with how much stress he had been putting on his body for decades. He inspired many and seemed to have lived a helluva life and did what he wanted to do.

Rest in fuckin' peace goddammit!
