In the PUA community over the last two decades the direct/indirect question has been heavily debated. I think both work if the game is tight. Indirect works fine often in real life because, often, just approaching at all distinguishes you and your not competing with tens/hundreds (for young 10s) of other guys for the ladies affections. I'm a chameleon and adapt my game to the surroundings. As a older cat (38), who considers himself seasoned, who still games on campuses and hustles in the same downtown areas I go indirect so as not to disturb the ecosystem so-to-speak. My club game though mirrors my online game where I take no prisoners
I game online using numbers, as game to me is pure numbers, and super direct. I've found and have studied the outcomes of the different approaches, and to me direct game brings the best results per work. I use about 7-8 sites regularly. In the last four months I have kept data of the response rate and the meet rate. I have, for the purpose of comparison, created three different profiles on the two most popular sites, with roughly the same profile description, but different pictures. I chose not to message the same profile twice as to confuse results. The three different profiles took on three different personas, one respectful, one of the common/moderately self confident guy, and one of the super direct. I messaged two different age groups of women 18-23 and 24-30. I consider myself young looking and good looking for my age so I keep one of my pics on there and claim my age as 30 typically (which I think I can pass for). I extensively Game the younger girls, and they can eventually take it or leave it. The younger cats may have an easier time with this. Anyways, the three different profiles sent these three different messages to both these age groups
To age group 24-30
"Hi I'm xxxx. I saw your profile and you looked like an interesting person. I'd like to get to know you better if you have the time. Thanks, xxx"
"Hi I'm xxx. I usually don't do online dating, but I thought I'd give it a whirl and I'm glad to have come by your profile. I run a successful business, live healthy and am always looking for the next fun adventure. I loved seeing your profile and I'd like to get to know you"
"I think your cute, but it's going to take more than that to get to know me"
To age 18-23 I used basically the same two replies that I sent to 24-30 only modified the second a tad.
The third persona messaged this "I think your cute, but it's going to take more than that to get to know me. What does being a good girlfriend mean to you? How many sexual partners have you had? What do you love to do? I think I could be a better boyfriend than anyone else who messages you"
The response rate was typically 30% greater for the third persona. I think, because of the competition now online for women's affections, direct game has a place in separating you. But this was just my personal observations. Feel free to disagree.
