"Christian love bears evil, but it does not tolerate it. It does penance for the sins of others, but it is not broadminded about sin. Real love involves real hatred: whoever has lost the power of moral indignation and the urge to drive the sellers from temples has also lost a living, fervent love of Truth."

They are actually giving away castles in Italy for free, as long as you can make something out of it after 5 years.

Castles are ridiculously cheap in Europe, but they cost a lot in maintenance and property taxes.

Frankly if we have a strong enough brotherhood on the ground we could easily pile up our resources, buy a castle and fortify ourselves. If war comes a lot of country people will probably hole up in these strongpoints too.

Castles are not effective forms of defence any more, certainly not for the money required. In a soft collapse they're too expensive to maintain and during a modern war they would just simply be turned to rubble by mortars and makeshift artillery.

Surviving a modern war or collapse or combination of same, particularly one with roving gangs of "refugee" bandits, will require either a retreat to more mountainous locations or an exceptional district reconnaissance and response system.

Communicate. Move. Shoot. Without one of these things the other two are mostly useless.

Castles and secured compounds are not meant to be modern military fortifications. They are only meant to keep out the rapists, the vibrant enrichment, the petty thieves and general further blessings of multiculturalism.

Modern military methods require either movable units or highly defended ones with anti-missile defensive capabilities or being far away from the enemy and secured by an air force. The only reason why the likes of ISIS are still alive (well aside from the globalist aid) is because they fire some shells, then retreat into the underground and shield themselves among the civilian population. 1940s Germany or US would not even care about anyone, but simply napalm-bomb and artillery-shell every building where even a firework comes out - until no Allahu Akbar comes out of the rubble.

A fortified estate is only an option so long as we are not in full war with the Global Caliphate. If that breaks out, you either move away beforehand or join the side of CIVILIZATION vs BARBARISM. Whether your castle gets picked as a defensive position or more likely a military quarter for the Western forces is entirely dependent on the circumstances of the future war.

Personally I would prefer my family to be far away on the beach in Argentina. If I want to do some killing in the war, I can return alone Rambo style with some buddies.
