New Dutch campaign: 'Let boys be boys'

Currently there runs an ad campaign on the Dutch television which says: let boys be boys.

The advertorial starts with: 'boys and girls are equal, but not the same'.

The video, titles with: 'do you let your boy be boy enough'?

I make this thread to illustrate the different ways of thinking in Europe, some Americans here throw them too much on the same pile. Would those advertorials run in, say Sweden? The UK? The US?

Visit also: http://www.laatjijjouwjongengenoegjongen...-statement to read the statement, Google translates creates:

Boys and girls are equivalent, but not the same. We, educators of the Netherlands, sometimes lose sight of boys developing and learning in a different way than girls. In general, educators expect children to behave calmly, listen well and sit still. While boys learn more by discovering, experimenting, taking risks. Educators seem less appreciated in recent years' boys behavior. Boys slow down, inhibits their development.
From science there are divergent views whether the differences between girls and boys are born or born in the upbringing. However, they agree that attention should be paid to this subject.
SIRE would like to ask all Dutch educators about their behavior towards boys. So boys get the space to develop in the way that suits them.

That video is great. That's exactly how I was as a boy, and it seems as if that kind of behavior is demonized now. It's great to see the Dutch promoting positive thinking about normal boyish behavior.

Yea it's disgusting. When I sometimes watch what my mom says to my little brother. "This is too violent, blah blah.", I swear every muscle in my arm wants to slap that bitch in the face.

I told her that if she will make him into a faggot by protecting him, I will not let my kids near her.

Perhaps older women tend to protect their offspring more as they know they will most probably not have another child.

How old is your little brother?

So, when your mother (the "bitch," in your own terms) says "something is too violent" for your little brother, your impulse is to crack her in the face? Maybe she's right? Maybe you are too violent for your little brother.

Your kind of commentary is exactly what opponents of this campaign will bring up. Why are you trying to help them?

I think it was a bit of hyperbole and blowing off steam.

I disagree. That kind of sentiment towards your mother either means you're a potential violent sociopath or your mother was abusive or a very shitty mother is some important way.

It rubbed me the wrong way too. I assumed he was still a teenager and still pissed at mommy and daddy.

I'm surprised something like this was aired - I wonder how much of a reach and what channels this was on.

There's bound to be controversy and outrage from the left because of this add.

I agree. Like I said, I did all of these things, but in the video, they play with fire, they wrestle and throw each other down on the cement, they jump bikes off ramps, they slide down stairs on cushions. All things that occasionally go bad.

I think boys should take some risks and flirt with danger some, but in this day and age, it's wonder if some parent doesn't sue the video makers after their kid gets hurt doing one of these things.

Still, I hope public sentiment starts to turn towards accepting these things are good and normal for boys.

I had a similar childhood to the boys in the video, but how many parents let their kids play outside nowadays? When I was a kid I was allowed outside all day, I just had to be home before it got dark.

A shit load of kids these are sitting at home playing videogames or watching movies. A lot of parents think it's too dangerous to let kids outside of the house. I get really pissed off when I see toddlers sitting there watching a movie on an Ipad, this is when they should be more active and interacting with other people. A generation of fat social retards is being created.

Related - one of the best posts I've seen on the subject. I've shown it to at least 10 different people with differing views on things.

All agree it has a great point; that men and women are equivalent and not equal.

This is not a sign of the European mindset. It is just a mid-size non-globalist company having a contrarian TV spot. The Dutch are cucked to the utmost. They will go down about the same time as Swedistan, Belgistan and Lodonistan - they will burn in the enriching flames of diversity.

The gender crap is only used to destroy the majority of the local males, so that the Caliphate has an easier job at beheading them.

I see you're right. From the OP, I thought this was from an educators association of some kind. However, I followed the link, and I see this was made by a company that sells pants made of really durable material, targeted at boys. You can see these highlighted in the video once you know.

It's still a great message, and maybe it will resonate a little with the population. Unfortunately, like you say, most men in NL are pretty cucked, thinking that they bear cultural guilt for colonialism, slave trading, and warlike behavior in past centuries. They are generally ashamed of European culture and Western Civilization.

I've spent a lot of time in NL in the past year and a half, and talked with people about these things. Many are tired of excessive government regulation, or tired of Muslims taking over neighborhoods and making things more dangerous, but for the most part they toe the standard SJW line. They're not really ready to change their beliefs and become true shitlords.

^ no they dont sell those.

The makers are SIRE, which stands for (in English) for the Ideological Commercial Society.

They make ideological commercial spots and broadcast them on both state tv and commercial tv and almost all major channels (NOS state tv channels), and RTL. They definitely are not some pant sellers.

SIRE = Stichting Ideologische Reclame. They say on their website to be an initiative from the 'communication sector' and say to have absolutely no ties with the government whatsoever.

They also made this:

containing the message 'talk about sex before your children see porn' whatever you may find from it.

And this one, against violence and mistreatment of ambulance people etc.

The last ones are both in English for a big part.

And not so much to contrast America and Europe but to point out differences within Europe.
