Back from the fires. Worked 16 hour days. Very tired. During this ordeal I was reminded and it was reinforced greatly in my mind that you can not count on the government to save you. I could not believe how many people would not do anything to protect their homes other than pack stuff in the car.
No cutting down the very dry grass, no moving of shit that is going to catch fire easy from near their houses, no putting a sprinkler on the roof to prevent the thing from catching. Some people had a weeks notice the fire was coming yet they needed to get gas for their vehicles while the actual evacuation was going on...
I have to say I'm glad for sites like this. It has made clear to me you are either a person who is a survivor or a victim.
