cheap travel location with surf/salsa lessons?

I have 5 weeks off in September, and I'm trying to decide where to go for a solo-trip. I'm looking for a place where I could learn salsa dancing for cheap and also has decent surfing for a beginner/low-intermediate surfer. I'm from USA, mid 20's, tall/white and speak english/spanish. Would also be nice if the women were attractive and that is also not super touristy. Places that have come to mind include Chile, west coast of Mexico, Peru (although I've been to Peru before, so I would prefer something new), or maybe somewhere in California? Lastly, I prefer colder temperatures to blazing hot places.

Can you guys think of any specific places that fit these criteria? Thanks in advance.

I just noticed this thread, and yeah, it is too late to make any response regarding your specific trip. I also do not know too much about getting dance lessons in the countries that you list.

Sure, California might not be cheap, and I live in southern California, and I spent a fortune on salsa lessons in the 2002 to 2006 timeframe... but sometimes you can pick a location and go to clubs every night that have lessons included in the entry price for the club, but it does not tend to be cheap.

When you are interested in dance, sometimes you can find like a dance cruise or a dance camp that is 4 days long or so.. Those tend to be decent bang for the buck, but not cheap, necessarily...

Maybe some other ideas will come up in this thread, even if it is not specific to your trip that has likely already passed. Maybe you can follow-up to say what you ended up doing and whether salsa dance was involved in your trip?

Daytona or Cocoa for surfing lessons, not sure about salsa but probably. Some good looking women in both. Daytona is a larger place, more people.

Second Cocoa. That's where I learned. Been surfing ever since.
