Actually, this is a good point. Besides the Adventurer, the only other dude who I think can get away with wearing a hat in a nightclub is a Rake, like Mystery. A Rake (Johnny Depp, etc) defies sartorial norms. Again, like the adventurer, it takes a lot of confidence and you have to really represent the personality that you're trying to present so it doesn't look forced or fake.
I always wear a hat turned backwards in nightclubs and it works really well for me. I have about 7 custom hats that I've had made, all saying different things. I won't say what because I don't want to walk into the club and see some guy wearing the same hat ; it's a very small world.
