The way I was raised was - Go to School, Get a Job, or Get the Fuck out of the House; No other options allowed. This is the same for a lot of Indians.

My late father was born in a house made out of mud and straw, and he knew that if you don't work for a living then you would starve to death. In Indian culture it is considered a disgrace to be on welfare.

The children of the cab drivers and 7/11 or gas station guys never work in their father's trades - they go to med school, law school, or finance or some other kind of professional work.

That's what I meant - also illiterate does not mean low IQ and neither does coming from a mudhut. Polish IQs in the 1910s on Ellis Island were measured around 89. They are now 106 for the new generation. That is what happens with improved food, supplements during pregnancy, no inbreeding (stop of Hajnal line crap). No tribe is special - any can improve.

Indians also have a very good work ethic.

The 106 estimate for Poland does not pass the "smell test." The 106 estimate for Poland appears to come from various online sources plagiarizing each other from an alleged citation of one of Richard Lynn's works.

This is certainly quite the statement! Would you say the same of Pakistan and Bangladesh? After all, they are genetically indistinguishable from Indians.

IQ testing has come a LONG way since 1910. I'm sure the jump wasn't just due to better food and supplements and no inbreeding. Instead, the test was probably testing them with questions that were more culturally focused or literacy based, rather than g-loaded. The people that constitute the population of Poland in 1910 were not lagging that far behind in terms of modernization and cultural output compared to their other European counterparts.

I highly doubt that India will have this IQ jump from mid 80's to over 100. That would be a colossal geopolitical earthquake in terms of changing the balance of power in the world 20 years from now.

Inbreeding of high IQ families has also been studied. It produces a few who are even smarter and tend to go towards genius levels and in contrast gets you plenty of progeny with sub-par abilities. They stopped doing it in the 20th century as it became obvious that you need to have 4 kids to get a decent one and 3 idiots.

I agree with that, in fact that pattern is more typical for most immigrants in the western hemisphere, including those from muslim countries. The dynamic might be different in the UK, where there are large clusters of relatively isolated Pakistani communities.

Leo Varadkar becomes Republic of Ireland's taoiseach

"We couldn't get the former taoiseach to stretch as far as that," Mr Adams added.

Mr Varadkar acknowledged the joint exercise class.

He jokingly added that Mr Adams had been much better at Pilates because "he has greater experience of being in a tight squeeze."

The European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, also congratulated the new taoiseach, emphasising the common challenge posed by Brexit.

Who is Leo Varadkar?

The former GP is the son of an Irish nurse and a doctor from India.
