Kazakhstan & Kyrgyzstan- Trip Report May 2017

Was out in Kazakhstan for a week at the start of the month

Disclaimer: had my lovely lady with me, so not too much happened. Also my first post so hardly the expert.

We hit Almaty for three nights and Astana for three nights to visit the Expo.
I can confirm the same things as the previous posts. Almaty is a pleasant city surprisingly nice to stroll around. It does lack a little bit of an obvious centre but it was a nice place with some stunning fresh food available this time of year.
Astana is a bit like somebody played Sim City really badly, with crap public transport (although only 90 tenge for a bus ride) and mega highways and too many stupid big buildings. Unless you were in Astana for an event (like the Expo) you need one big reason to come here otherwise you might go a little insane.

Anyway, I wanted to write this and join the forum to actually share that this is one very good location for many people on here for a few different reasons.

1)Inflated value. I used Tinder in Almaty to see what was going on and did in fact get time for one date with a local girl there in my three days. The number of matches was very high as was the response date to such conversations. The number of matches I would say would be comparable to what I would get in Ukraine/Belarus when I have been working there, and I'm fairly average for my part of the world. Tons of girls in person at shops or out and about gave a ‘wow’ when I said where I was from.

2)Attractive girls. My conclusions after one week were that the Kazakh girls were the ‘Estonia of Asia’. I mean this that their ratios are a little bit away from the normal face shape but all the more interesting for it. I was talking to my girl about the eye to chin ratio, wide eyes and cheekbones but narrow chins. It was a very feminine look, very sweet. I’m now back in the EU and the amount of fatties and tattooed, pierced girls etc is just a mess.

3)They are clearly bored. With the country’s wealth there is a huge middle class growth in girls around the 18-30 age. However they have nothing to spend their money on. In chatting to girls I heard stories of those who’d been travelling to over a dozen countries, drove 4x4s despite living in the city, and recommended that the best thing to do was to hang out at the shopping mall. There is clearly nothing to do in Kazakhstan...which brings me to.

4)Day game paradise. If there is nothing to do other than hang around in malls, then surely this is the place to go if that’s your thing. I have never dabbled in it before, but even I was tempted to have a play with this when shopping for food etc. I would suspect Kazakhstan to be the best day game compared to night game location anywhere. It’s got many conservative traditions so I would rarely expect girls to go out drinking, and if you have any good reason to be there you would de-arm their shields quickly. If you can be quick the best plan you should....

5)Go to the Expo. We both work in the science fields so the theme of Future Energy was genuinely interesting for us. There are very few foreign visitors as you can imagine and an abundance of volunteers, who basically all appear to be rinsed from the local university. I was able to pick out to my girl many on the 8-10 level. They were wowed when we said where we were from and what we did and many offered guided tours etc. Some were very open in checking my out and giving me obvious stares and even some direct flirting (one exhibit even had one cute volunteer picking me out and blasting me with an air cannon, so I returned the favour etc and then started the conversation). I walked through another exhibit and the volunteer didn’t even notice I was there, she had her head down flicking through Instagram. I bet any of you here with experience could pick her up and get her contact details. It’s on until September 10th and I bet they will get more bored as the weeks continue. From the Expo site to the Nazarbayev University and the bus stops there is only one route which is via a huge Mega shopping mall.

There’s a few key differences that I think you should all know about as well.

1)I was called out on Tinder for not being very polite quite a few times. That’s a new experience for me, usually I jump in with a situational question or something but I think they want the formal ‘hello’ greeting and stuff so try and be very gentleman like.

2)The one date I had was a late night ice cream in the mall date. Super informal I thought, but my girl had heels on and a short skirt. If it is a date, dress up a notch more than you expect. In that regard too expect it to be traditional, you’ll have to do some paying for dates, you’ll have to lead by example. It’s not a place in that regard for a newbie if gaming girls is primary objective.

3)Both in person and online there were a few conversations knowing that ‘Kazakh girls are very beautiful’. Of course everybody says that about their own girls but I wonder if being a Turkic speaking country, and lots of flights from Turkey, means some of that culture has crept in. Did not see any Turks to comment on this.

4)On that note I was asked a lot ‘why are you in Kazakhstan’ and ‘what do you think of Kazakhstan’. Expo was a good enough reason for people, and some bullshit for the second answer is required. Remember there is an element of brainwashing going on in their media, even if they all know better.

5)In terms of money it is certainly more expensive than other places to get to and to spend when you are on the ground – at least compared to other places in Eastern Europe I am familiar with. Not a problem though and was never ripped off, even got a cross city taxi for 800 tenge in Almaty with zero language skills.

It’s very far from where I live and I wouldn’t be heading back without reason to, but it’s a weird part of the world with girls who could be very rewarding for you if you play it properly. Don’t expect it to be in any way easy and quick though, but there is a niche market here for an intelligent confident individual to play a different game than the traditional late night bar scene.

Kazakhstan & Kyrgyzstan- Trip Report May 2017

I've been daydreaming about Kyrgyzstan recently and I came across this BBC show which I found very interesting as it touches on economic, social, and (geo)political topics that are discussed frequently on this forum. Also WB Captain Ortiz (~49:00).

In the second video (Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, not linked in this post) we get a brief glimpse into the mail order bride industry and hear a bit more about Islamic militants and repressive governments in the region. The host appears to run some sort of game on the local guide. I enjoy his stereotypically dry/cocky British style, but some may find it annoying.

This seems to be from 2003 so the political situations are different within each country, but the same larger issues seem to be equally relevant.
