Homeopathy, does it work?

Homeopathy, does it work?

Not everyone in this thread is understanding the difference between homeopathy and herbal medicine.

Homeopathy is giving a very very very tiny does of something in pill (and trademark) form. If you look into the history of it, it is almost like a cult.

Herbal medicine or naturopathy is taking herbs etc in actual substantial doses depending on their properties.

I personally am a big believer in natural / herbal medicine for many things, but you have to understand it is most likely going to be a whole system complex approach rather than a bandaid/instant fix like we expect western medicine to be. Some (or even many) naturopathic doctors are full of shit also, so it would be important to ask around and find someone who is truly knowledgeable.

But as for homeopathy, I believe, as many have said, it is mostly the placebo effect. although if you study the biology of the body, there are some areas (such as allergies, inflammation, histamines, and anything else that has a specific receptor) where I can see some possible validity to the (tiny tiny dose of diluted "medicine") approach. In the same way that vaccines/etc work.

I've found homeopaths to be the worst kind of preachy natural medicine "practitioners" out there, I would suggest looking into a good herbalist or naturopathic doctor first.

Homeopathy, does it work?

I used to think homeopathy , herbalist and acupuncture was big con until i had something wrong with me that traditional medicine just couldn't fix.
I got a UTI from a blow job , the antibiotics didnt work and its turned into a full urinary infection. epididymitis , prostitius etc it was not pleasant ! Drinking shit loads of broccoli juice seemed to clear it.
However i was left an inflamed testicle and some discomfort in the urinary tract. I spent a fortune on doctors , all said nothing they could do just left over inflammation and I'd have to live with it ! After a year of living with it I started to investigate alternatives.

I found a medical doctor who had re trained in homeopathy / herbalist after he had a brain tumor.

He was excellent and after around 13 months of treatment I was 98% back to normal. I think a lot depends on how good your homeopath is, he had a machine that would energise water and I would drop them into a drink twice a day. Some treatments worked, some didnt , some made it worse !

Call it the placebo effect but until you have experienced it , I wouldn't dismiss it .

Homeopathy seems to work on light conditions: constipation, allergies, headaches. Other stronger conditions seem to work on children best. We are like onions with layers and the older you are the longer the treatment takes effect.

I cured all my allergies by cutting out the most toxic foods - artificial sweeteners, MSG (it's in many many foods and a lot of restaurant foods). I treated my pollen allergies just with 10-20.000 mg per day when I had the allergy and it went fine. Within 4 years all allergies disappeared. I had those starting in my mid 20s, so I was born with zero. I first got pollen allergies and then it went to peanuts. Now I got rid of them and I read that this is how it works.

Also I am taking high-potency supplements since a few years, so that probably helps also. Allergies if they are already strong don't disappear over night, but the body gets rid of the toxins which caused them (usually unrelated to what you are allergic to) and then you are free once again.

This is what I mean about homeopaths being free to diagnose issues that are taboo for mainstream doctors to suggest.

When I was a kid I had an allergy to milk products and wheat products. They caused me serious breathing problems at the time. Hospital serious. But the orthodoxy was that there was no causal link between a patient's diet and their asthma so we were sternly told that all anecdotal evidence of my airways contracting every time I drank milk was either fictitious or wildly coincidental. The word of the medical association was law, and to contradict is was to tear up your practitioner's license. Better for people to die than question the orthodoxy.

So I was taken to a homeopath that told us, yes, diet can affect asthma. Stop eating wheat products and drinking/eating milk products. One year later my monthly trips to the ED had been reduced to zero and I was doing marathons with the rest of the kids.

The flaw with modern medicine is not that it's lacking in options. The flaw is that they'd rather see you die than say "we were wrong" or "we don't know".

Did they say which virus in particular caused your epididymitis? I have had the same thing here but I'm pretty sure it wasn't caused by an STD. Try the pulsatilla & apis mellifica 30 combo, it helped mine heal back up 100% in about two weeks.
