What happened to Mystery?

What happened to Mystery?

Does anybody know what happened to Mystery? He had the show a few years ago on VH1 and came out with a new book in 2010, but I haven't heard anything about him in a while.

Is he still teaching bootcamps? Is he still active in the pickup industry?

As far as I know, he's kind of fallen off the face of the earth, at least as far as the PUA industry/community, but it's not like I'm keeping tabs on the dude. I know that he ended up knocking up one of his girlfriends and has a baby daughter, and he might have even gotten married (?)

If you read "The Game" then you probably know that the dude has a somewhat fragile emotional/psychological state so who knows what his deal is, I'm sure he has made and is still making a decent bit of $$ from his book, TV show, etc.

A buddy of mine that is a screenwriter had a meeting with him a couple years ago. There was going to be a movie based off that book The Game. It fell through however.

Probably.

The funny thing is how quickly he fell off the radar. 3 years ago Mystery still had a show on VH1, was doing interviews on talk shows, and was still making appearances here and there.

Now...he is nowhere to be found.

Just brings home the message that the pickup industry will always be "underground." Mystery was the most famous PUA ever, and yet his fame was only short-lived.

My guess is that the mainstream interest in pickup peaked in 2007-2008 and has been falling ever since. The novelty has worn off. The mainstream media has moved on.

He had a kid with some club slut, and considering that he's kind of a softy, he's probably focused on that right now. Maybe he's working on a new series: "Mystery: Pickup Artist Dad"

There is still a negative connotation associated with men who bang a lot of lizards in anglo countries thus I never would see PUA being something welcomed in households.
It seems that the average household is geared around a family like structure and usually in these Western Anglo countries, the lizard seems to run shyt.

Lizards don't (openly) admit to liking men who can fcuk different reptiles.

I remember the negative connotations surrounded Arnold Terminator when he ran for pres. There were allegations of him being a 'womaniser'.

I think that term is ridiculous. When I hear lizards around me bring up that topic, I step the fcuk off before it riles up bile in my guts.

Neil Strauss has written a couple non-game related books "Everyone Loves You When You're Dead" this March and "Emergency: This Book Will Save Your Life" in 2009. Mystery published "The Pickup Artist: The New and Improved Art of Seduction" last year. Anyone read it?

This is a very small, and quite transient community.

His Venusian Arts company still seems to be conducting workshops all over the world and he has posted on the forums as recently as a month ago.

Interesting. So it seems like he is mostly staying in the shadows and running his company.

Does he still actually teach bootcamps, though?

No idea. Why don't you just go to the website and take a look? Do a google search for "venusian arts". You will find it.

Hmm... if this is true it's interesting. Maybe Mystery has just been eclipsed by a newer breed of guy who understands game (e.g. Roosh/?). I was under the impression that his business was dead and he wasn't involved in the "community" any more.

Mystery's associate Lovedrop does most of the backend stuff. I get the impression that he does all the work and sends Mystery a check every month for using his name. I haven't seen a new Mystery article in several years.

I learned loads of listening to Lovedrops audio cd´s. Some parts are hilarious.
