Considering Moving To Czech Republic

Hey everyone, I'm an early-twenties recent college grad who has been offered a job in a second-tier city in the Czech Republic. It's a good job and pays well, but I'm still thinking about how the move will affect my dating life.

As far as my game is concerned, I'm still a beginner, but am starting to have success in the town where I currently reside. As for my looks, I would consider myself good looking. I have the light-skinned, dark hair and eyes, southern European look. I've heard that guys with that look fair well in Central/Eastern Europe, so I'm not worried about that.

What concerns me is that I'm 5'8. I've heard Czech girls are fairly tall, so I'm wondering if anyone who has experience from traveling or living in the CR can speak upon whether my height would be a significant obstacle in getting laid/starting a relationship.

Been here 3 years, I'm assuming you're going to Brno?

The girls here are hot, period, the height thing isn't an issue. I have no idea regarding the Southern European but Czechs are reserved and if you resemble a Turkish dude or Spanish, they might be thrown off and put you in a category, but that's not anecdotal. Whether you like it or not, racism is big here.

Just be quiet and adapt and don't come here ignorant and saying shit like "you love eastern europe" cause that'll make everyone around you cringe. Take the job, learn about the country, and don't be loud, and don't try and be flashy with Game and you'll be alright. Great country.

You will be definitely among the slightly below average height guys in the club for the most part, kind of lost in the crowd but it does not mean that it will affect your interaction if you hit the gym and so on. The girls will usually not be taller than you.

If you look Italian, it's good - maybe north Italian is the exact thing that should be said. If you look middle eastern you got problem. Some people say that it's a plus but it applies just for girls that are below 7 and usually in University Erasmus slut niche. Never saw Erasmus guys pull or even dance with anything better than 6, maybe 7, mostly chubby girls. Nicer girls got access to quality local tall, handsome guys and they don't need "exotic" southerners even thought you might have luck with some, you will have to work harder.

Everytime I hear "Middle Eastern guys have it good there." I recall a girlfriend of my friend telling me how "The dirty Turks are annoying her with their lustful stares.". Especially after the refugee fuck-up you cannot be lower on the society ladder than being Middle Easterner.

Maybe it would be good to hang out with white guys or make friends with locals, hanging out with other Turks, Spaniards will definitely put you in category that I would not want to be in.

The Spanish look is not exactly Middle Eastern. I have darker skin compared to most Poles and I've been told many times that I look Spanish but never been confused for Arab or Turkish. Does it help ? Yes, many girls are attracted by it but don't expect 9 and 10s to fall into your lap. Those need just as much game if not more compared to Western countries.

I've been to Prague several times and one time to Brno. Prague is beautiful, first time I arrived there I was blown away by the architecture. For meeting girls or people in general I feel like it's an uphill battle. Czechs are some of the most unfriendly people in Eastern Europe, out of Budapest, Belgrade, Bratislava, Bucharest, Sofia and Warsaw, I found Prague to be by far the worst in terms of meeting locals. Brno should be better than Prague though.

Are you ready to learn Czech? If you want to frequent local (non-touristic) night venues you will need it or it will happen that you won't be let in or bartenders won't want to serve you. Especially true, if you can easily be distinguished from an average looking Czech guy.

During day time or in touristic night venues, you won't have problems as English knowledge is pretty common.

And please learn which countries belong to Central and which to Eastern Europe. That's the least you can do to not look ignorant at the first sight already.

Why are you guys just assuming OP is ignorant? Also the advice on learning Czech is something I would ignore if you are only planning to stay there for only 1-2 years. It would consume too much time and it´s not a particularly useful language like Russian. Im talking about heavy studying, of course its useful to learn the basics of the language. You will always find college girls who speak decent enough English.

I have never received negative feedback from girls in EE for saying that I love Russian culture, slavic culture and so on. As long as you don´t act like a typical American on Erasmus university exchange, you will be fine.

If you don´t like it and move back to the US after a year, it will still look great on your CV with international experience.

Man, if I had a chance to work in Eastern Europe with 70% of my Norwegian salary, I would leave within the month.

Thanks everyone for the useful information. It's good to know that height won't be too big of an issue.

Just to clarify, I won't be going to Brno, but rather a smaller city about an hour and a half away from Prague. Also, I know the CR is in Central not Eastern Europe, and I do plan on learning Czech before I go and continuing to practice while living there. Honestly, I dislike the ignorant and disrespectful tourist/immigrant just as much as I'm sure the Czech's do.

As for my ethnic background, I'm Lebanese, and while I could pass for Italian or some other Southern European ethnicity, I would never lie about my background. If people in the city where I will live are actually that racist towards Middle Easterners, maybe I could just go to Prague on the weekends and game expats, erasmus students, and more open-minded Czech girls.

If you're going to a city even smaller than Brno your game options are going to be limited. That said, you're going to be living and working there so you should be able to rustle up a decent LTR.

I'm 5'9 and felt pretty short in Czech Republic, but it's still doable.

And yet both of you are are still staying CR is in Eastern Europe [Image: smile.gif]). They take that to heart here. Also, I knew this dude form Norway who was on unemployment and would live here and hop around country to country. Made me wish I was from Norway.

In my head Eastern Europe = Eastern Bloc although geographically speaking some of the countries may be central. I imagine people who take that to heart have some sort of superiority complex.

Im with Pointer on this one. Indeed Czech is in Central Europe, along with Germany and Hungary as well.
These countries are very different in terms of economy, HDI and the basic day to day life that people experience living there. For that reason, its more simple to use WE or EE to give people an impression of where you are going. In a geographical perspective we can use CE to describe the high-end shopping streets of Munich and a piss-poor village in Hungary where every day is a struggle. To put two places like this in the same cluster is not ideal.

I get the impression that you think that is a bad thing to be placed in the EE cluster. In my book, it´s not negative.

When that being said, I think that Czech and Poland are by far the most modern and well developed countries in "EE" (CR).

Fair enough. For OP, it's best to give him the impression that confusing the two is bad as that will directly impact his success with Czech girls who are already insecure with the thought of being the same as Russian.

You can connect them with EE or Russian, but it will be an insult. Cheers.

You will be looked at as "Stupid American". That's just how it is.

I lived in Prague for the majority of the last 5 years. I had a friend who was 5'5 and had good results because he was an approaching machine. The height might be a little bit of a disadvantage but probably nowhere near as much as you'd think it would be.

That's good to know. Do you have any knowledge about how being Middle Eastern would effect gaming? For what it's worth, I'm completely westernized, as I'm born and raised in the states, and I'm not religious at all.

They hate Arabs.

I met a girl in Prague few years ago when I was there. Strangely enough, he asked me where I was from. I said guess, she said I look like from Middle East.

I showed her my Italian passport to convince her and she totally changed her perception about me and hung out with her and her friends for 3 weeks. They dont really like Middle Easterners at all.

It varies. For some girls it will be a big deal, for others not at all. It will also depend on where you want to go. I think in more alternative places it won't hold you back much. In some venues it could be a big disadvantage though.

Let's say that in Czech TV you can hear the same statements and "worse" than what Trump got the most shit for and nobody blinks an eye, especially when it is targeting muslims. - Does not matter where you are from or what you believe, Turk, Arab, Muslim, Pakistani, Shia or Sunni its all the same for Czech people.

Few months before they featured black "model" in supermarket Lidl catalog and shitload of common people wrote on Facebook page how they don't like their multiculti bullshit and that Lidl lost customer because of this. It was covered in TV a lot and funnily enough some brads made "antiracist" commercial featuring black people as result.

Would say that even though it might not seem 60%-90% of CZ population is racist on obvious or more hidden level, at least what would be considered racist in the West. It takes time for me to remember a person that haven't had any racist opinions.

Dress slick, slavic guys have a piss poor sense of fashion. I have a friend who's ex was much much taller than him, she was Czech. Good luck with your relocation! [Image: smile.gif]

I'd also account - how far is it from Prague, or perhaps Vienna?

Reason being, if it's reasonably close you've got the cheap flights going everywhere. So you may be able to make up for the lackluster game in the small town by taking some weekend jaunts to capital cities.

Regardless, you'll be able to find a decent relationship if you're putting some roots down for a year or two. It just might take a bit of work.

Lol man i was last year in Prague with 2 of my italian friends.

They loks a bit dark and would be easily confused as muslims but they did very well.

Each of them banged like 5-6 czech girls in their staying there. they are not either tall or particularly good looking and they never emphasized much they are italians.

They still have the facebooks of those chicks.

I doubt very much about your '' percentages'' , because many black american dudes do very well in czech republic.

'' Racism'' is in general related to conservatorism and considering thay Czech Republic is a main producer of porn with local girls and has so many swing clubs, such things do not go hand to hand with what you stated.

I'm 5'5 and having a blast living in Prague.

Average is taller, but you find plenty of petites, plus male height is not so important here as in the US. Of course being taller would be much better, but it's not a deal breaker.

Older Czech people can seem a bit racist/unwelcoming to foreingers. but I think they are just sick of drunk tourist douchebags.

Learn a few sentences in Czech to stand out and they will treat you like anyone else (no smile, because the wouldn't smile even to their mother, but they will treat you normally).

Czech Republic is less touched by SWJ bullshit, so people with opinions about race and women will say it openly even on tv/at the workplace. For example my real estate agent said "There was a girl who wanted to rent the place, but we are giving it to you because she is Syrian". Stuff like that get's you in trouble in other parts of Europe, not here.

Don't see it as a negative, just freedom of speech. But its starting to come here to, already met a few self proclaimed feminist (at least they were hot!).

Lol man I was like last year with my two friends in Kiev and now I like know the whole Ukraine you know man. :-DDDDDDDDD

Prague is international multicultural city like any other this size and tourist importance. When you walk the streets you hear more english, spanish, russian than czech, it's not a czech city and does not resemble anything about the country. But that is how it usually works with capitals, just giving you the "Travel 101".

of course, I never claimed that this dude or any other will not have success, will not bang etc. If they have game, they will. But there are certain variables in each society and he asked about race etc. so I gave him the answer. The more sluttish the girl will be, the more his "exotic" look will be advantage, the more conservative she will be the more disadvantage it will be. Plenty of sluts in the country.

Btw. I know personally a few people who had something to do with porn there, they are definitely not celebrated or accepted, everyone is laughing in their face, some of them move on the other side of the country, or to Prague as of course the most liberal bullshit in the whole country AKA capitals (see the pattern here, boy? :-D). And it's always the very desperate, dirty people. So yea, if you had great success in CZ and as well you manage to bang some "pornstars" (I did.) you sure as hell haven't been fucking the biggest dirt in the town that is sucking dick in the club's restrooms every other week, congrats.
