Alphas are generally not vindictive. There can be vindictive people in every personality type but only gammas are vindictive due to it as such.

Being a delta is pretty great. You are probably too sigma or gamma to understand how comfortable it is for most people. I do prefer using the term beta though, yeah.

I am not going to claim that people don't misuse the terms but I do think personality traits and measurements are pretty clear cut. That is, people don't change personalities just because you like/dislike them.

Sigmas are pretty close to gammas but also distinct. I would also say sigmas are close to alphas and omegas in different ways. I think if you look at the manifestation of the personality traits sigmas are closest to omegas.

Btw I think alphas and sigmas generally have fewer mood swings, so all of that is pretty irrelevant to them.

> Vox Day also contradicts himself by claiming Gammas are conflict avoidant but also will argue and debate relentlessly far past the point where they've been beaten.

They're both true. I know for certain gammas do the latter; and a large amount of the time they back down when getting into serious trouble. They also generally don't fight battles directly.

Achilles = Alpha - fights for glory
Odysseus = Beta - fights for his family
Ajax = Sigma - fights for duty

What about Patroclus? Is he an alpha or a beta?

Patroclus is beta.

Diplodocus is alpha.

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

Go tell a diplodocus he's a vegan faggot and then we'll see who's alpha.

I'm not saying being a delta is bad, since it's closest to "normal" that's what most people are. But no one would enjoy being described as such, look at how we deride the bug-men for liking popular culture herd mentality stuff. Beta is another normal-sounding personality description but more flattering. And is there any difference between a delta and beta beyond just the beta being an alpha's lieutenant?

Also, if Alphas aren't vindictive then Trump is looking a lot more like a gamma. I remember reading about some woman that worked for him and later on she had a different job and he wanted a favor from her that she thought was an ethics violation so she refused. For years after that he went out of his way to trash her as a work reference in order to hurt her career. This doesn't fit with the description of the alpha only attacking to secure a strategic goal and then being magnanimous in victory. And once again that description sounds more like a movie character than a real person. Powerful people in real life don't seem to possess much in the way of honor or mercy.

I'd boil it all down to just aggressive, socialized, and antisocial personalities.

Hmm... my first instinct is that isn't true. I imagine many deltas would, if this categorisation became more popular, accept this and think it makes perfect sense.

1) This probably says more about what fake news is than what Trump is
2) Cruelty is different from pettiness.

Interesting takes and warnings on Gammas, only this guys uses the technical term:

Covert Narcissist.

Vox Day has covered this too, defining the Gamma as a covert narcissist and this link has a questionnaire that diagnoses them.
