How to get past the inevitable awkward moments?
03-17-2017, 08:06 PM
So a girl I went out with suddenly went cold to me and is going out with another guy part of the same social circle.
Now, since I have other friends and things to do I dont need to hang out with them, so I dont.
But inevitably I will meet them at large city events, bars etc.
It is going to be awkward to the point where I almost feel like dont going out at all.
How do I make those people and their thoughts a complete non event to me?

Improve yourself and never look back, stay busy, get a hotter girlfriend.
Abundance mentality.

When you say "went out with" do you mean just once or twice, or were you guys actually hooking up?
Either way, she chose to end it awkwardly by suddenly going cold. Why should you have to pay the price? Do whatever the fuck you feel like, and if you see them, be courteous, but act as if nothing ever happened between the two of you. Don't give her the pleasure of thinking that she somehow "got" to you.
And the best way to get her out of your mind is to get out there and actively prowl for new leads. Get numbers, get laid, and she'll be a forgotten memory in no time.
The best revenge is living well.

I always thought you don't "go out" with chicks from your social circle. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong here

No it wont be THAT uncomfortable as you think. ThaT girl will barely talk to you if she notices you at all. Stop worrying. If you happen to talk just be friendly and have a good time as if you do not care. Cause you should not. Fake it if you have to.

This is what I always do when I bump into ex-girls:
- If there's plausible deniability - you are far away, you're in a crowd, you saw her but she didn't see you -, just ignore.
- If you sense you've been detected and/or she knows you know she's around, give her a head nod, smile and wink. Hold eye contact for a few seconds. If you have a glass in your hand, hold it up like you're making a toast. Then turn away and carry on with your life.
- If you feel like the nod wasn't enough, maybe it's a social setting and you have to talk, or maybe she starts heading your direction, go up to her and just say "Hey, what's up?" with a smile.
You: Hey, what's up?
Her: Hi.
*Shake hands, kiss on the cheek, whatever is normal in your culture. If she's with another guy, shake his hand, say your name.*
Her: It's been a while. I'm good, how are you?
You: I'm good too, thanks. [Optional: This place is awesome/I love this music/Have you tried the G&T here?]
Her: Bla bla bla.
You: Cool. Nice seeing you.
*Smile and leave. Get lost in the crowd, talk to someone else, go to the bathroom, etc*
It's fine to address her/her and the guy, but the key is to be nice and as succint as possible. If after "I'm good too, thanks" they start rambling, cut them off with a remark and finish it up. Got to eject ASAP. It's cool, cordial, not awkward but it doesn't make it a big deal.
