Crossfit and modern group fitness class game

What's up guys, I know this subject has been touched on at some point, but I wanted to have a more open and exploitative discussion on the game possibilities at Crossfit gyms and group fitness gyms and classes in general.

First, some theory and observations:

1. Fitness for women is very trendy now. With the rise of Instagram and the amount of attention a girl can get for being someone else's "squatspo", women can essentially kill two birds with one stone - get attention (likes), secure the attention for longer (by working out and staying healthy). The death of night game is a rather universal one - being constantly out in a nightclub fills your body with needless alcohol calories and breaks good sleep patterns, and many women know this is not an activity they can actively sustain.

2. Crossfit is a social gym and becomes a new social circle. Most of the activity at a Crossfit gym are group classes, and since people mostly go at the same time, its pretty east to befriend new people after a few visits. Every single Crossfit gym, on its own, has its own series of events and parties, where you are already a part of the inner circle. You will also be invited to parties by other gym members, which will allow you to expand your social circle with theirs. Girls, in particular, love this social element.

3. The "roided out she beast" theories on chicks working out are mostly untrue. Yeah, you will see some women that are too muscular for your tastes, but they are an extreme minority. Most girls at a crossfit gym are normal girls that want to look better. So as long as they don't suddenly develop a need to be a competitive bodybuilder and crossfitter - you're pretty safe.

4. The variety available at a crossfit gym means you'll be coming back and getting in shape no matter what. With a side benefit of being exposed to more women.

5. With the popularity of crossfit, other group based gyms are becoming more popular. SoulCycle, CityRow, yoga and Barry's Bootcamp are some examples. These are INSANELY popular with women, and you're far less likely to see roided she beasts, but at the same time - these are expensive specialty gyms that might not serve your fitness needs completely.

6. Group based "extreme fitness" classes are now very popular in basic, chain gyms. Very popular with women, and you don't have to join a new gym for it.

7. The more a chick is into fitness, the less likely she is to engage in degenerate activities like binge drinking, smoking, drugs, etc.

8. At this point, this is just a theory - but Crossfit can give you a chance to jump on your own Instagram fitness niche, described in more details in the "Instagram Game" post. I'll be experimenting with this soon

Now, my recommendation for people is to try a Crossfit gym. The game there is pretty basic:
- Show up to the gym, chit chat with people, add them on social media and like their stuff. In this case liking a persons IG pictures is not a thirsty look because these gyms are usually breeding grounds for positivity and encouragement.
- Show up to the gym's social events (there will be plenty).
- Compete in a tournament if available. Some places have in house tournaments, almost all travel for them (usually not far), but this is a great way to build social standing in the group. In the world of a crossfit gym - an out of shape guy that does a competition has a higher standing than a more in shape guy who doesn't. This will boost your social standing considerably.
- Befriend the "top males" at the gym. While at first they might seem like competition, they can very easily become your allies after exposing their social circle to you. Essentially, most are friendly bros that love to work out and see others do the same. Sure, it might seem like some of the women are only interested in the "top men" of a gym - but by raising your status, as described above - you can get your status close to it and slay some incredible girls in the process.

Problems at a Crossfit gym:
- If you fuck a girl from your gym, you'll be seeing a lot of her. This could lead to drama, but, surprisingly, I havent seen a lot of it.
- The hottest girls are almost exclusively for the "top guys" at the gym. Even with the tips above it would still be difficult.

Problems at a trendy group gym:
- You'll be essentially seen as the "dudebro that only goes to yoga to meet chicks" since many of the trendy group gyms are designed to cater to women. A man needs more for his fitness than a stationary bike for 45 minutes twice a week. Women know this.
- Trendy group gyms don't usually emphasize the social aspect of their gym. I haven't heard of a SoulCycle gym holding a party for members. Essentially this is the tradeoff - access to a lot more women but fewer opportunities to take advantage of it.

"Extreme fitness" classes at basic gyms are a decent substitute if you're not down with the Crossfit workout style. You can essentially get your normal regular workout, and once or twice a week take a class that will truly test your cardio, endurance, etc, in a fun setting like sprinting work, plyometrics, etc. These classes will have a lot of women, however, they might not fully shake off their "I'm at the gym don't talk to me" attitude that many women get at a basic gym. The chances of a good interaction after a class, however, are a LOT higher than normal (around weights or cardio machines). At basic gyms, there is usually zero social events, so you're left to your own devices.

TL;DR: I would recommend RVF readers to check out a Crossfit gym not only for the health benefits, but for the social ones as well.

I also have the following questions for the RVF experts reading this:
1. Have you ever successfully gamed at a trendy, woman centered gym (SoulCycle, etc)? How do you balance the hours required to go to those trendy gyms with the hours required to complete your total fitness goals (lifting, etc).
2. Have you ever gamed a girl that was only into "top guys" at the gym without being a "top guy"? How did you do it?

Nice data sheet KS. I would confirm this, especially for the guys writing in who need "community", or friends in general. Plus, you will get wickedly athletic. CrossFit makes you more coordinated and athletic in general, rather than just buff. Spend 6 months or a year doing the WOD's and you will walk out a completely different 'physical' person.

The social aspects are vastly under appreciated. CrossFit parties are generally wild. I have more fun and have more deplorable fun at a CrossFit party with CrossFit people, than I do in most clubs, with most people. People go nuts, shed clothing, get sexual with each other, its wild fun. Way less pretentious than any club or with most social circles. For good or bad, people in CrossFit are generally uninhibited. Drama can follow if you are prone to it.

I will add that the 'top girls' going for the top guys are usually at the top athletically too, and the girls that take CrossFit the most seriously. Usually these girls compete. If you are not bought in at 100%, or not competing in general, these may not be the right girls for you any way. Usually the career girls who are just showing up for a good workout are better for most guys. I would generally say these types of women are better in general; they are more adventurous, take care of themselves and are pretty open minded. If you are looking to fool around, or for a GF, this is a good place to find a higher quality girl.

I imagine that a lot of this would apply to dancing as well with some very important differences;

-dance is a skill based sport, which means you can embarrass yourself a lot and need to have a solid identity. Simply being strong or fit does not get you anywhere so you need to let go of any ego you have and not be annoyed by the fact that you'll be learning from a lot of girls instead of them looking up at you as it normally goes in sports.

-because it's challenging and you do not get any alpha status for simply showing up fit and male, you need to actually like dancing because the development comes slower and is harder to measure.

-individual dance is extremely female dominated, be it hip hop, ballet or jazz and although some forms of individual dance like latin dancing is more popular with men because it is associated with getting laid and exotism, this does not really apply to non-latin dancing, which is far more female dominated and half of the guys there are gay anyway or just look queer.

These are my experiences and I have not been able to get any dates from dancing yet but I have had a good reception and when I go to a night club, I can always take some of my relaxed confidence and moves with me along with the gym body. It's also quite convenient to open up a girl by asking if she has done real and proper dancing. Usually they have not but over time you develop an eye for screening out the ones who have and this can lead to conversation born out of mutual interest.

100% true. Not to mention that dance is mainly dominated by women. increases your social proof when you all go out as a group

I'm a regular at bootcamp and occasionally Crossfit classes here in NYC, been at it for a few years now and I gotta say, it's slim pickins. The women are rarely anything to look at, with many being bulky and broad shouldered - much like men.

It's weird, because I can find 10 hot girls by standing outside the studio for 10 minutes, lol. Sure, once in a while a super cute girl comes in, but honestly these tend to be rare events.

If it works for you and you're into it, go for gold...

Pussy ain't for pussies...
