Lateral collateral ligament sprain (left knee) and plantar fasciitis (left foot)

Any RVF members had both of these injuries? Its really affecting how I can workout in the gym.

Right now I just do walking (unlimited), light cardio on elliptical, rowing machine, ropes and only upper body machines for weightlifting.

I am too cheap to pay for a trainer. And too lazy to go through rehab for 6 weeks.

Go to rehab. Plantar fasciitis can make walking almost impossible if not treated and gets worse. Your knee messed up is making you out of balance too. Anything that affects the lower legs will affect the upper body as well, so you could develop an imbalance as well in that area as well.

How is your overall mobility? Do you foam roll or do any other type of SMR (Self Myofascial Release)?

In my experience, when I am experiencing pain in my knees or lower body, it is almost always due to having muscle adhesions elsewhere up my leg.

http://www.triggerpoints.net/ is a website where you find your pain areas, and it will tell you common spots where muscle adhesions can build up to cause this pain. These "trigger points" are where you want to foam roll.

LCL Pain - http://www.triggerpoints.net/symptom/lateral-knee-pain. Try foam rolling the IT band. I actually just dealt with this issue and it went away after a few rolling sessions.
Plantar Fasciiitis - http://www.triggerpoints.net/symptom/pla...foot-pain. Try taking a lacrosse ball to your calf in the areas marked with an x

That being said, if you are too lazy like you said, then you are doomed to fail.

I strained my LCL last year deadlifting, and after weeks spent hobbling around waiting for it to heal I finally solved the problem with collagen supplementation.

Get yourself a pound or two and start taking four tablespoons every morning and every night. You'll feel a difference in the first couple days, believe me.

The trolling efforts are getting more advanced. Next thing you know they'll be self-replicating by hacking the forum software and making numerous "back up" accounts.

Does anyone have suggestions for a knee brace? Both Walmart and Target have so much variety
