as far as the teaching is concerned

it is ur teacher assistant's job to help you control the classs. She isn't doing her job.

I dont have an in class co teacher. The korean teachers are teaching their own classes. I havent really complained directly and hard enough about some of the classes and students but that talk is gonna have to happen and soon.

Quote:Quote:

they are middle school students taking a night class that their parents enrolled them in...what do you expect? How would you act at 7 pm after a full day of school and your teacher is some Korean dude that speaks zero English and ur a 13 year old kid.

I dont teach middle school kids. I teach elementary. But I would have to agree that middle school / aged kids are the worse.

Quote:Quote:

If you are like 80% of esl teachers and you are there to get laid, loaded and pickup easy money then you get crappy classes, get frustrated and quit. They see a dozen guys like this a year, hence the terms of their contract.

The crappy classes isnt what is the problem. After the first month I stop caring and just focus on the students that want to learn.

The problem is management breathing down my neck telling me about parents calling and complaining about every little thing I do.

Of course those girls are not TYPICAL looking Colombians.....they are MODELS. Models are not typical.

Good thing is there is plenty of "models" in Colombia for all of us!

I dont know what part of Colombia you have been to but these are the typical looking females you will see in the nice malls and clubs. My neck was almost broke in two after going to the mall in Quilla sitting outside Bodytek gym! Also saw plenty of these bitches in Cartagena as well, hell 60% of the p4p chicks looked like that (big asses, fake tits, hot faces) that I saw at La Dolce Vida. Females are said to be hotter and in greater supply in places like Medellin, Pereira, and Cali!

Go read some of Mixx's stuff on Colombia where he talks about old/ugly/non rich cats with fine bitches!

Dash...let me know when you want to hit Cali and I'll make it a point to be there.

Recently got rid of my apartment there but I still have a new car with all my clothes in the trunk sitting in the garage of my friend's building....so I can hit the ground running when I get back.

I have just spent 9 months getting mind fucked by my ex who told me shortly after we broke up that she was pregnant with my baby...she swore up and down it was my kid and said it had to be because I was the only one she was with....I told her I was going to do a DNA test and she said go ahead....it's yours....she almost had me 100 percent convinced that it was mine.

Just got the DNA results back and there is a a zero percent probability that the child is mine....amazing how convincing a chick can be when they believe their own lies.

The whole thing has me taking a breather from Cali....I'm actually fighting the urge to sell my car and hang in Medellin for a while....I have friends that want me to move there but I much prefer calenas to paisas.

All the guys I know in Medellin are paying for it one way or another...even the guys that live with their women....I just can't see myself doing that and I have never had to in Cali....and my girlfriends are just as hot or hotter than theirs.

Anyway let me know when you head back down to Colombia.

Dash- Thought you might get a kick out of this.

The other day I was sitting in a cafe catching up on some news. A table not far from mine had two pretty hot asian girls sitting at it. One was talking quite passionately about something, and seemed sort of upset. It caught my attention.

When I looked over at the table, the other girl locked eyes with me and gave the look we all know. Interest. Sex.

I folded up the newspaper and walked over to them, keeping my eyes on the one girl the whole way. Her eyes are steamy.

"Hello." I say.

She immediately grabs her phone and starts scrolling through it. I notice the writing on the phone is in Korean. Now her friend is looking at me, so I ask her if her friend is always so awkward.

"Yes" she says.

I walk away. Koreans can be an odd folk for sure.

This chick last night broke the bank though.
Took her to a restaurant and she ordered the most expensive shit!
Im sitting there watching EVERYTHING on the menu get brought to the table. I was like WTF.
Then we go to a bar after and she is ordering top shelf mix drinks.
At this point im thinking this bitch BETTER put out tonight.

That's how a lot of guys got laid in Thailand with non-pros. All that so they can claim they didn't pay for sex.
This all makes absolutely no sense to me.

And you're right about condoms, one even asked me if I have any STDs, and when I said no, she asked why condom then? That's ridiculous.

This is not awkward at all. She's shy. A chick which could jump into the friendly conversation with a stranger guy right away is very rare outside the Western world.

Only 3 girls in the class out of a class of 12 are remotely interested in learning. The others talk amongst themselves as if I wasnt even there. Then If I get in their area they give me dirty looks and cuss me like a sailor in Korean. Unbelievable.

Could you kick them out of class?
From what you said it looks like you're not showing any authority, so they don't give shit about you.

Not being interesting in learning and disrespecting the authority is normal for kids. Those who are very interested in learning in their teenage ages likely to have some mental issues. This is why establishing - and maintaining - the authority is important. Think of it as shit tests.

Duuuuuuude, those are not typical girls in Colombia. Add about 20 lbs from all the deep fried shit they consume on a daily basis and there you go. Don't mislead the novices here. I consider my game to be pretty tight but if you're telling us that you're teaching English in Korea, pulling honies like that means that you're slugging way above your economic weight. They aren't typical and typically they won't go for men without some financial backing.

Confirmed. Those are not typical what you see walking the streets of Medellin/Cali/Bogota or Cartagena. They do exist, and there are lots of them, but they will not go out with anyone that does not cough up serious cash and increases their social value to be seen with you.

There are lots of 7's and 8's to be had....but solid 9's like the ones on thee videos are either high-priced prepagos, and have high-status local BF's that fork out serious $$$ to keep them happy.

Unless you go to Risaralda....or Caldas. There, you'll see plenty of girls that come close to these in the videos with busted looking dudes.

Redneck,

I think you are under the impression im teaching public school. Im teaching at a private english academy. Almost every hagwon I know there is no in class co-teacher. Thats the public school teachers that get to have a co-teacher in class imo. I have sent a few students out of the class but the class was still a circus. I would need to kick out 80% of the students which isnt really practical imo and on top of that parents will call and complain.

Fo for to seamlessly get a new job my school would have to give me a letter of release which they wont do because I wouldnt not pay back the flight and recruiter money for quitting in the first 6 months. So I would have to wait over a month to get new visa documents and puller a runner to Japan. Not very practical given my money situation to be sitting around doing nothing for over a month.

Are you glad you went down the teaching route Dash? Have you made any money (as in savings) from it yet or still recouping start up costs and using the money to live from pay day to pay day?

I cannot make my mind up on this TEFL business, seems like you need a bit of money behind you to get started and then if you try and bail early you could end up liable for flight and recruitment costs, you bail early you lose a months wages that you worked for. I'd rather spend that money on travelling places especially when I have little interest in actually teaching and just want to be in a foreign country.

I got about 1400 still in the bank from my first payday. I get payed again in 2 weeks (2k after taxes). So ill come out 800-1k over after paying for my flight back and considering 1st month start up costs.

Am I glad I took the teaching route?

Im glad I got to come to Korea and check it out.

Knowing what I know now, I would have done it diff. As in I would have taught at a public school or an adult hagwon. The normal english academy's (hagwons) are not my steez. Kids dont take it seriously, and are disrespectful. Thats not even the main problem. The main problem is it is a PROFIT business. As in keeping the kids and their parents happy comes above actual learning. I cant deal with that shit.

You dont have to pay any lost flight money or recruiting costs even though they claim you do. Its in my contract but if I leave I aint paying shit and im also taking my new iphone with me and skipping out on my phone plan. There isnt shit they can do besides try to threaten you in phone calls and emails.

I really thinking about leaving on payday in two weeks and heading to South Florida to chill and save some extra scratch before heading to Colombia at the start of school season.

No, I don't teach english....I'm pretty much in party mode most of the time.

You should shoot me an email when you buy your ticket so I can be in Cali....I'm state side right now....plan on going down for a week in December to party with some friends and then I don't know when I'll be back for an extended stay.

Mostly I'm just curious to see someone use this PUA stuff in Colombia to see if it really pays off in the long run.

Anyway hanging out with friends that are just looking to pick up chicks is always much more entertaining that hanging with guys that are looking for a wife or are into P4P.

I depend on a social network and business to meet the women I date...and of course hit on women in a public setting only when they make good eye contact and are alone or with a girlfriend.

I can see using PUA approaches on low strata chicks where you have much higher value right from the start...but cold approaching strata 5 and 6 chicks that are 8 and above in a public setting is something I haven't seen pulled off with great success as of yet.

The only guy that I have met on this board in person was bluewater in Cali and although he was a nice guy...he wasn't into using a cold approach either.

I believe he met all of his women online before meeting them in person.

KingofScotland,

Slighter harder but you will get it. Might not be right away or in the specific area you want.

Wedo,

Im not sure if I use alot of PUA stuff. Mainly just use attraction with alittle personality that they like.

I feel like you can approach the upper stratus chicks esp if you are an attractive dude. If not you will need great style and very good spanish.

I mainly focus on lower-middle class hot young chicks. Seem to be the best ROI.

Which city are you going to teach ESL in Colombia? That sucks that the teaching situation didn't work out in South Korea. It seems like such a crap shoot going to teach ESL in Korea. Teaching ESL is a profit business though. Whether you teach in a buxiban in Taiwan, hagwon in Korea, or for a company in Sao Paulo teaching English to adults.

It's all about making sure the students enjoy your class and keeping them happy. When I first started teaching in Sao Paulo I lost a couple students in the beginning because I was still learning how to teach. I think you should gain some more experience because you could run into similar problems in Colombia. You could look for ESL schools in South Florida to work part time or find people who are learning English there.

Preferably Cali, Coffee Region, Quilla, or Bucara.

But ultimately ill have to go where I can find work. Hopefully Ill find decent work in one of those cities.

The public schools isnt much a crap shoot. Pretty much your just their to entertain the kids for 30 minutes. Not alot of pressure like a "for profit" hagwon. I should have done an adult hagwon.

Yea the ESL schools in So Fla wouldnt be a bad idea. Could work on my spanish too.

You don't have to be a PUA expert....just like to see a guy that is putting himself out there.

God only knows when I first came to Colombia some 15 years ago...I chased chicks harder than anyone I know....I have since learned to keep my cards a little closer to my chest....But I do like to see a guy lay it on the line if he can pull it off more times than not.

Nothing wrong with going for a hot chick no matter what class she comes from....but if you are going to be hitting on chicks like the ones in the video....it is not going to be that easy to get them to open up to you...plus you are bound to bump heads with some well-heeled colombianos along the way.

Thank god I prefer slimmer chicas with smaller breasts...otherwise I might have met my match already. jajaja

I have a good looking friend 17 years my junior that comes down and parties with me in Cali from time to time....and I have heard him complain that he actually thinks it is a disadvantage to be a younger guy here.

I don't know what your experience has been when you go out with a group of guys here in Colombia...but there are a certain type of women here that will blow right past younger guys and head straight for the guys twice her age.

The learning curve is a lot steeper in Cali than Medellin....so if you don't hang with someone that knows where to go and what to do...you will be wasting a lot of time.

that's why going to the country first then finding a job is a better route. That way you avoid 4 months of hype about Korea and then stay less than 3 months (like some genius named redneck predicted in July and again in September).

You don't get 2 way flight money, only 1 way but that is the only disadvantage.

Better luck in Colombia, at least you got your flag and some teaching experience, it could have been worse.

Redneck,

Even getting a job "in country" there is no way to know about the actual job conditions itself ie kids behavior, how management will deal with you and the kids/kids parents. This is stuff you would only know by working on a job for atleast 2 months.

Its all a crap shoot.

I am mainly leaving because my best friend is moving to south florida as id MUCH rather chill / live there till the school season starts up in Colombia.
