Any Data on the Channel Islands ? (or quaint British countryside)

After an insanely hectic summer of travelling around Europe involving intense drinking and debauchery I have decided to detox for the winter . Plan is to hit the gym hard , eat well , organised routine , maybe one/two days a week some kind of sport ie footy , squash, babysteps towards a combat sport maybe and the occasional dates .

I have been looking at cities around the world where I could do this and where my British/French passport will allow me to find work legally . I've considered Canada, Australia but flights are expensive and it would take some investment to set up base rent deposits and a bunch of other one time fees.

So I am looking at quaint British countryside , not a predominantly chav town or a Burkah/Hijab town like Bradford (no disrespect I am mixed race myself). Ideally a nice small town with a decent balance of working class and middle class to avoid the snobbish posh Surrey types. As a born bred Londoner I get on well with urban well spoken middle class people and would love to experience a decent country town where I can game some local birds .

I applied for generic jobs all around and got a second interview at a place in York and got offered a live in position at a Hotel in Guernsey in the channel Islands . This being the dreaded winter and off season and the Hotel being a boutique property with a staff of 10 I don't know if it's a wise choice. Blogs on the internet suggests Guernsey might be a chav town once you look past the scenic beauty and the locals are not the friendliest much like the cornish .

I am almost tempted to do a couple of months in Guernsey just to come write a detailed datsheet haha .

Anyone with any first hand experience ? Any info or suggestions much appreciated .
