Gentleman, I now think the theory Heartiste and others have put forward that the press conference Julian Assange gave on the 4th of October 2016 is a scam, and he is no longer in the embassy since the 22nd of August 2016 is very, very real.
Look at this interview of him done by RT (Russian news channel) in person and most importantly, inside the embassy posted online on the 6th of August.
Then compare it to the press conference of 4th of October 2016
Now that I look at it again....it does seem highly suspicious. The audio communication between him and the room where the press is waiting is practically non existent. Overall he is devoid of emotion, humor or humanity, his body language is very weird, he rambles on and on without a point, constantly says "um" and "uh", he blinks a lot when not speaking, he looks to his left side (and sometimes left and down) over and over again. He NEVER shifts his lower body in his "chair" like normal person would. The background doesn't actually seem behind him...but a superimposed image. The moderator always waits several seconds after he finishes speaking before she says anything.
Here some other details I noticed
1:24:52
They try to connect to him online but have weird technical difficulties where they can hear but not see him.
1:26:46
His image slowly appears on the screen like in a movie....they say "happy birthday" to him but rather than replying to that he talks about his t-shirt. Then claims he heard nothing of what was said in the press conference.
He then starts talking for 24 minutes in a cold soulless, monotone way, repeatedly making short pauses saying "uh" and "um". He gets really annoying to listen to him long term.
1:49:00
He mentions Gavin MacFadyen as being in a "very difficult way" He died a few weeks later on the 22nd of October.
1:50:17
He stops talking abruptly and there is a 7 second pause until the moderator starts speaking
1:50:32
A reporter asks a question on Hillary which Julian claims not to hear, then the moderator repeats it again into the microphone a 2nd time and he replies in a somewhat indirect way.
1:52:15
A question is asked about threats to the Ecuadorian people.
1:53:43
A question is asked about whether he will release documents on the US republicans. Firstly the moderator gives her own reply and then she asks if Julian want to add anything.
VERY SUSPICIOUS
1:54:42
He starts off by saying "There's a lot of fascinating angles than are unexpected." and then suddenly stops and says nothing and the moderator puts her hand over mouth in the dark and quickly says "I think he can't hear what we are saying"
1:55:20
Question about the future goals of wikileaks....he gives rambling answer.
1:58:05
Question about stats and verification of documents. He starts answering ok, then stops abruptly.
2:00:15
Question about malware on the wikileaks website.
2:03:37
Question about the change in structure of wikileaks
2:05:35
Question about his legal situation inside the embassy. VERY vague reply.
VERY SUSPICIOUS
2:07:35
Question if he feels affinity with Donald Trump. The moderator and the press in the room all laugh ....he first claims not to be able to hear again, then shows ZERO emotion or sense of humor with regard to this funny question.
2:09:00
Question about future election leaks
2:10:04
Question about Brexit
SUSPICIOUS
2:12:22
Question about why he cancelled his speech on the balcony of the embassy in London. Very short and very weirdly phrased answer from him.
SUSPICIOUS
2:13:18
Question about how is doing after 4 years in the embassy
Instead of talking about himself and saying something personal he starts talking about vitamin D, Astronauts and then abruptly stops.
SUSPICIOUS
2:14:42
Question about supporters of wikileaks being subject to counter propaganda. Instead of showing empathy with his supporters he talks about it's a great opportunity. Starts rambling really badly...his sentences have no full stops and never gets to the point.
2:19:24
Question about nationalism, rule of law and the culture clash.
More endless rambling without a point.
My theory:
This press conference back on the 4th of October 2016 does not look like it is with a real person (human being) speaking, but with a "live" speaking CGI (computer generated image) with some sort of advanced AI artificial intelligence (smartphone SIRI like) simulated program.
