Donuts are tempting sugar bombs! .. I have indulged, but I'd rather avoid.. OTOH I can see how the IDEA can work..

I've seen variations of Pies & Home made Breads etc.

And maybe what we really need this sheet to become is.. If not Donuts, what other ALTERNATIVE IDEAS can work in said scenarios?

People love to munch.. MUNCH.. and free MUNCHIES is always a welcome..

Just the way FREE PIZZA & Coke was always a CROWD PULLER no matter what college event it was..

I can confirm this works, and not just as the ladder climber. I was the boss at several previous jobs. I made a point of randomly buying a great office manager Panda Express orange chicken. Cost me all of $9 once a week to help make sure my right-hand woman was running the show properly. She was always grateful that I put the extra effort into making sure she had a little Saturday treat.

This also works as you're trying to climb the ladder too, no doubt.

I remember reading a study a few months back that found one of the most effective ways of being someone's "best friend" was to feed them regularly. They found it to be one of the most essential bonding experiences when you give people food. It is very primal and comforting at the same time.

Rep +1, in spite of the clickbait title. [Image: biggrin.gif]

I find that if you treat a specific employee, do it subtly so others won't get jealous. Otherwise, buy food for everyone and make a point of trying to thank them all as a team and individually for their support. I call this Gracious Alpha Mode.

Is it possible I could pm some of you guys for help putting together a resume or a linkdin account? Or would I be better off doing both.

Would it be harder for me to get a job if all my work came from temp agencies?

Your image and public-standing among your peers are more important than your actual work ethic and output.

Believe me - I'm not a bad worker but I'm honestly not a go-getter. I do just what is required of me, but every placed I've worked as an adult I've had a great reputation and public opinion simply because I'm friendly, fun, talkative, and a "cool guy."

Appearance is everything. The only time delivering really matters is when you are running your own business and/or having to deliver product to customers. Clients needs results otherwise your game will only go so far.

Do both, and delete your facebook.

How you make your potential boss feel about you is more important than your work history.

Good, facebook is a liability. Every employer checks it.

The best thread in the forum on linkedin is : thread-7895.html

There are multiple good threads on resumes in the forum, with great advice, you can use the search function to find them.

No one will write your resume/linkedin profile for you but if you want a second opinion on how your stuff looks, I'm sure a lot of members would be willing to have a look.

Had an interview (re: 20 minute slideshow presentation) today for an internal promotion. Only a couple extra dollars an hour, but that's not the only reason I applied.

I'm sitting in my rusty 12 year old car in a suit and tie, going to grab a tea at the drive-thru. Large, half 1 milk, half 1 sugar. And as I look at the talking box across from my face, gazing over the menu, I can feel the words coming from my brain and out of my mouth.

"...and can I get a dozen assorted doughnuts please."

I show up for the interview, doughnuts in hand. First one up out of four candidates. Feel like I knocked it out of the park.

Will post within the next week with an update.

Those next 3 candidates had to work in the shadow of your box of donuts the whole time.

They'd sit down and the interviewers would be like "would you like a donut...the first candidate brought them in" and their soul is instantly crushed.

You were like the girl that leaves her panties or toothbrush at a guys house to remind other sluts that its her territory. Well done.

Like Devin Booker scoring 70 points in a loss to the Boston Celtics, it appears my territorial Boston Creams were for naught.

"You mean we didn't hire the handsome young man who brought us doughnuts?!?" they'll say, as the tiny blonde secretary wipes creamy vanilla filling from the corner of her lips.

But dammit it all I've come along way from making sweaty, excitable presentations in a t-shirt back in high school.

In other news however; Like any careless slut who fucks up on her daily pill, there's always Plan B.

J'etudie le francais. I hope to meet up with you guys in Quebec, Maine, or Vermont this summer.

I did it just recently. I work in the IT industry which isn't as uptight as let's say finance or oil and gas but it can be applied to any industry. It's all in the frame. Hint: Start working your magic with the receptionist.

Since you mentioned this, I wonder what do you wear to work.

I'm starting soon in the same business and I don't want to look like an average joe, but do not want to stand out too much.

Any suggestions? Maybe a new datasheet. [Image: blush.gif]
